I think he makes a valid point. Time should not stand still waiting for Greg Oden to become the dominant player that we all think he will become. That's all he seems to be saying to me.

He is advocating just assuming that Oden is going to be a role player and use Raef's contract to get a top tier SF, in spite of oden's presence. he was implying that pritch needs to get a top tier SF and figure that Pryzbilla would be our center.
 
Agreed. I can't listen to the godamn radio feed but if we hinge our hopes on one player we're setting ourselves up. We have to be Blazer fans first and Oden fans second.
 
The suspense is killing me....why haven't they told us what's up with Oden?

Hinge our future on getting a Gerald Wallace? Please. I think we need to get our team together, but we don't need radical transformations. Even without Oden, our team is fine....top to bottom. We just played really really badly last night.
 
Uhm. I guess I should have completed the sentence. I meant we shouldn't hinge our hopes onto a single player (Oden). And yeah, we did play terribly last night but that wasn't my point.

we're not hinging our hopes on a single player. he's an intregral part of this team. Canzano is advocating not making him one.

At this point, pretty much everyone here agrees the Blazers need an upgrade at SF. The emotional reactions to Canzano factually pointing out that Oden has yet to prove he can be a reliable superstar seem a bit over-the-top considering what we've seen so far in Oden's "career". And believe me, I hope the guy is Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain rolled into one player. It's not like Canzano is saying to trade Oden and get a replacement for Pyrz, is it?

Um, no he isn't. He is advocating not making him THE player, which seems like a rational point today.

No, but he's saying that we should basically take him out of our plans of our "big 3". That his place on the team and future is not equal or greater to Roy and Aldridge. We'll be fine when Martell comes back at the 3. We can't have all-star quality players at every position...just fill the roles.

He stated (on the radio at least) that there is no "Big 3". He said build around Roy and Aldridge. I didn't read his garbage column (literally)

Yeah.. this sucks. They've teased this alllll day long and nothing from the Blazers. The longer it takes, the worse of a feeling I get..

It's all a ploy to build suspense, and then Oden will breakdance into the press conference, smile, and say "gotcha!!".
