A long time Blazers broadcasting member passes away

Very tough day yesterday. We found out a couple hours before going on the air. Quality man. Served his country. That dude was the epitome of RipCity. Smile on his face everyday at work no matter what.
Something happened last night that silenced the whole crew during our broadcast. Curry had the habit/honor of getting taken out by players on the baseline ALL THE TIME! Didn’t matter if it was Shaq or Steve Blake….they would always crash into him.
Well last night in the first quarter, the guy who was forced to work that camera for the first time in his career last second, got obliterated by Embid on a break….. It was if it was meant to be. Out of respect last night we put his chair out there….nobody noticed.
JC will be truly missed.

What was his role on the broadcasting team?

RIP and sorry for your loss @THE HCP

Cameraman behind the basket.

RIP

Too many people passing away suddenly like this. Very sad. People should get their hearts checked. Luckily I have a good family history of heart health. But my best friend growing up had his dad pass away before we were even in high school. One of the most active people there was. Did bicycle races and marathons. Fittingly he had a massive heart attack going on a short bike ride and died at 42. He was my baseball coach at the time and it was mid season.

It’s important for everybody to get their heart checked

I'm living proof of that! In the end, heart failure kills everyone one way or another.

But getting it checked early on and living a lifestyle conducive to dealing with it can prevent early death.

Is having a bad ticker hereditary for you?

Also I’m so glad you’ve been able to deal with yours. You seem active as all heck

first two years after my heart failed I was pretty fragile and weakened from it but I kept at it and now feel better than before the attack...I always exercised which is why the doc said I survived. Diet changes helped, low salt and less red meat, etc....I was lucky but the smart move would be to adjust your diet and intake when you are 40 and not 62 like I was....I'll be 69 in the summer and feel better than I did at 62....really grateful I can drive and go fishing and chop wood, etc again. My property keeps me moving and active. My family has some heart issues but Cancer killed my parents probably from chemicals they used on the dairy and fields in thee 60s....nobody wore gloves or masks handling that shit back then. We used to clean grease from machinery off our bare hands with paint thinner or alcohol which will pollute you down to the bone marrow I'm told....I think our generations were the great experimental age of what can humans tolerate.

Sorry for your loss @THE HCP . That dude is too young to die from heart failure if that's what it was. RIP.

Friggin love to hear it. Sounds like you’re active as all heck and manage it well.

They put Tristan in there?

I remember one of BlazersCam4's quirks was taking pictures from scenes in movies all around and about.

Might be from before your time. He worked under the hoop at the MC.
Yeah I didn’t show up until spring of ‘99. I hear names and have had the pleasure of meeting some of the old school guys, but that one didn’t ring a bell. A lot of hard work goes into bringing these games to the fans. Some quality people involved.
