.
The Mavericks just got to Portland and are going through a practice at the Bo Jackson Wellness Center on the Nike campus.
They're hoping it's preparation for a win against Portland tomorrow night. The Blazers are the only team the Mavericks haven't beaten this season (0-3).
Meanwhile, I have to extend an apology to Bennett Salvatore.
Yes, Bennett Salvatore.
In rushing through a blog post yesterday, I said he was on the referee crew during Game 3 of the Denver series last season. He wasn't.
The way the game ended in controversy, I guess I just figured he had to be there. But the memory failed me.
Apologies to the Salvatore family.

What is the deal with Haywood and Dampier two 7 footers and can't even do a decent job. We have to depend on the old man Najera. Najera plays like a reborn 21 years old, quick and furious on the defensive end.
I thought Haywood was an instant upgrade over Dampier for the first 10 games. Now I am seeing double of Dampier. What's a Pity. The guy is moody just like Dampier and decides to play whenever he likes.
I hope Mavs don't have to re-sign both of these guys. We don't need a 7 footer who can't do much on the defensive end. Offensively Every times Haywood or Dampier received the ball under basket they feel like they have to shoot. If they can score then good for 'em but they are so clumpsy (Hay is a bit better but not much) under the basket. Defensively they don't want to help out the weakside because they are too slow.
Go Najera you are the man. I take you and that shorty JJ Barea on defensive end over These losers JET and Dampier/Haywood any time.
