I haven't been to many events at the Moda Center for Blazer games or otherwise. I did go, to a Blazer game a few years back now. But other then that, I haven't been to the Moda Center that much. I've been to the Roseland Theater more, for a lot of concerts though.

Anyways..... One of My older brother's bought me tickets to Iron Maiden for their Legacy of The Beast Tour 2019. That's going to be in Portland, in September. And the tickets that he bought were in Section 117 Row R (He bought them on Tuesday, through StubHub.)

But I have NO IDEA really if those are good seats or not, at all.

So anybody that has been to a few concerts at least, in the Moda Center. Know if Section 117 are good to pretty good seats? (For location, viewing, etc.)

Thank you

Anything in the 100 levels is going to be good.

300 level is nosebleeds.

Enjoy!

Here's a map showing you where the various sections are in the Moda Center (still the Rose Garden to me) -

What's the best 300 level? I sat in 314 a while back, and saw a bunch of Blazers Instagram people and they were really into the game

Section 117 is at the opposite end of the stage and looking straight on so they should be pretty good seats.

BlazerWookie had some of the best seats in the 300 level. He sat in 318, row E, on the center court line.

Edit: I had two buddies that sat in 304, row A that were also great seats. At that time, I had two seats in 225 and when they had a vacancy next to their seats I would go up and join them, their seats were that good.

P.S.

Iron Maiden is the shit

True story. When we were kids (yes, i'm dating myself) we used to blast this song in our parents house when they weren't home, stuff one of our friends in a sleeping bag and run around the house dragging him around throwing him into walls and down stairs and shit. It was awesome.
Sounds like my house growing up. We had 5 kids and yes, we were all stupid boys.

Heavy Metal has always been my favorite form of music. But I've always noticed it elicits from listeners the widest range of opinions.... kind of like country music. People either LOVE IT or they literally can't get far away from the music fast enough. The only metal band that doesn't suffer from this conundrum is Iron Maiden.

It doesn't matter what demographic, what religion, what educational background, what political affiliation.... Iron Maiden arrives in any country on the planet and people just lose their fucking minds. LIKE EVERYBODY..... Even Lady Gaga can't get enough of them.

There is just something about the band's theatrical presentation, their songs, Bruce Dickinson's singing, Steve Harris' bass playing.... it's like some sort of secret sauce. I equate it with wrestling almost. Wrestling fans are all loyal and super hardcore. Iron Maiden fans are all brand loyal and hardcore. You go to an Iron Maiden concert and you're gunna have fun.

Any of course at some time point during the night they will bring out Eddie....

I guy I work with that I've only ever had a few conversations with was telling me today about how he went and saw them May 15th, 1985. I can't remember what he said the tour was called but I could definitely see the fire in his eyes. He was pumped just remembering it.

They are like the metal equivalent to Star Wars. Broadest possible appeal. Three guitar attack which is major overkill. And all their songs are epics. It's like the musical equivalent of sugar high.

Any insight into the title of the latest tour? Not a fan but my CEO is actually in an IM cover band. Needless to say he's pretty cool.

My first concert was 1983 at the Memorial Coliseum. My dad brought my 6th grade ass to my first concert to see Twisted Sister opening up for Iron Maiden. Scared the shit out of me!

The Number Of The Beast is the name of their greatest album. So my guess is Legacy.... is just a take off of that.

That was the World Piece Tour. Here's the tour poster.

And here's the set list Iron Maiden played that day.....

They were also supposed to play Eugene the day before but the gig was cancelled for some reason.

Here's a good documentary about how English metal bands like Def Leppard, Iron Maiden and Motorhead formed a new music scene in London and survived disco and punk. The New Wave of British Heavy Metal.

My brother-in-law had the Ventures' lead guitar as his manager at Tektronix.
