I'm not a fan of his, so a lifetime ban as a demonstration MLB is serious wouldn't bother me too much.

We'll see if Selig has the stones.

Remember the Senate committee asking the sports commissioners and union heads what each league was putting into their next CBAs? Stern was the only commissioner who seemed unresisting, which made it impossible for the others to tell the senators to go to hell. The senators were threatening to pass laws to take more control over leagues which didn't comply.

From a libertarian viewpoint, Selig's current suspensions were forced upon private enterprise by the Federal government.

A-Rod went from my favorite player in baseball(mariner days) to someone I really don't care much for (attitude and PEDs). For me that is very sad to watch this happen to someone I really enjoyed watching play the game.

I read Selig was trying to negotiate a suspension with ARod's legal team, but they told him to kiss off and die so he did this and then the negotiations will start in earnest.

I'm kind of torn. I dislike the Yankees and I dislike A-Rod. If A-Rod gets a lifetime suspension, then I'm guessing the Yankees get out of the nasty contract they gave A Rod. In order to optimize the pain to both, I hope it's a decent suspension but not lifetime.
