I really hope that this is true, how I dispise that clown. I did find it funny when Crawford made his first comment to the media, he spoke with Quick(I believe) and I caught clownzano on air say something lamenting the fact that no one had called him from the Blazers..

Dare we to dream the impossible dream?

I watched him clear out his desk. Then he tried to piss on it but I threw him out on his ear.

I love the sweet irony of the linked thread citing "unnamed sources", the standard ploy Canzano has relied on for years to add validity to his own biased agenda.

Careful what you wish for. My guess is the Oregonian replaces him with someone that stirs up just as much shit.

I hope not. It would be refreshing to have a local sports columnist who actually LIKES the teams he's paid to cover. But, if it is another paid stirrer of shit, can it at least be one that isn't so fucking full of himself?

Wouldn't effect me, I haven't read any of his shit pieces, or Quick's for that matter, in 3 years!

i sent him an email saying something like "you are the dumbest bald piece of shit in the entire world"

his reply was "thanks for the note, JC"

Because he doesn't actually read his emails.

You just described a blogger

Anyone who has worked long enough in sports journalism to get a job at the Oregonian will inevitably be jaded and gossipy. It goes with the business. Most of the guys I ran into who had been doing it for a long time pretty much hated the game. The only real exception would be Kerry Eggers. I have no idea how he managed to keep such a positive attitude, but he was old guard Oregonian, so maybe that was how he came up? :dunno:

After a few too many drinks one night I told him how I really felt about his writing on twitter and got blocked. Best thing that ever happened to me.

This is what you people don't get!!! They're not supposed to like or dislike the team they are covering! They are paid to be objective, not HOMERS like Rice and Barrett. Do people really not know this?

Oh, you're back angry little hockey fan?

Canzano is still at the Oregonian. He just published another column on O-Live.

Chip Kelly is going to declare for the NFL draft and LaMichael James is going to coach the Miami Dolphins.

Book it!

That line is so old and so stupid. We get it just fine. When you work for a newspaper covering the team, the fans expect them to be objective, and they also expect them to be professional.

Unfortunately "journalists" these days think they need to be controversial, or break a story to get attention. Even if the story is false. The competition with the internet may be a factor, but regardless guys like Canzano are ruining their profession. Very few people respect them anymore. People are getting fed up. We simply want honest journalism, and we are not getting it.
