Since June 26th (25 games) only 3 yankees have hit home runs. Cano (5), Overbay (3), and Suzuki (2).

And the HR drought has reached 6 games. Suzuki July 14th. Bronx bombers?

Yea the offense is terrible. I think that is pretty obvious. Which is why making a move to get someone like Soriano at this point really doesnt make much sense. ANother old guy who K's a ton, doesnt get on base and is bad on D. He will pop a few HR's sure, but its not like he is any kind of difference maker for this very broken offense. Seems like a very empty move to me.

Its more PR move than a fix, if they were serious, Rios or the likes would be the logical choice to pursue.

...another telling stat, and one that illustrates how good the pitching has been and how poor the hitting has been.

...in the games when the Yanx score 5 or more runs their record is 36-1...yup, 36-1. ...when scoring 4 runs or less, their record is 17-47.

I'm glad we won but......another game with very little offense. Anyone else on the mound besides Kuroda & the Yankees lose this one. JMO.

If the Yankees aren't gonna be sellers - they have to be buyers. Soriano was pulled from tonight's lineup so that's 1 guy. Cashman needs to make a deal for a 3B and catcher, unless he decides to roll the dice with a kid like Sanchez or Murphy. The status quo at the deadline ain't gonna cut it this year. This offense needs help, and that means more help than waiting for Jeter and Granderson.

I realize it takes 2 teams to make a trade, but I feel Cashman has been dragging his heals when his team needs him to do his job. Girardi has manage almost this whole season without any power in his lineup and no flexibility on his bench. If Girardi wasn't solid with this organization it would be the lack of moves by his GM that would get a manager fired not to mention his team stumbling to the end of the season. Atlanta needs pitching, we need McCann now and in the future so there is a start.

If this team makes the playoffs - Girardi should be AL Manager of the Year. it might be his best job since coming over in 2008. The only other time I can remember him hitting on all cylinders like this has been in the 2009 playoffs.

In full agreement. Cashman needs to pull his thumb out of his ass & get this team some help. McCann & Morales would be a great start.
