I wonder what Leonard will look like in 5 years.

Robinson's spin move is so erratic, it's as if he does it with his eyes closed.

Yeah he is not always smooth with the ball. But damn he teases us with his athletic ability. He really runs the court well for a PF. He blocks out pretty well. He is a good leaper with strong hands. And the form on his outside shot is pretty good. Even though he is very inconsistent shooting it.

I would think he has to fall in the "don't give up on him early" category. Even though two teams already have. No doubt he is still raw.

He has a little Gerald Wallace in him.

I'm not ready to give up on Leonard, but I am ready to give up on him playing more than mop up minutes this year.

I still think the Blazers defense is their kryptonite. They'll be up and down all season until they can be consistent with defense. A good defense will cover up for a poor/struggling offense. I wonder if they need a better system of defense OR if they actually need a defensive system implemented.

Funny thing is, it took him until age 26 to become an average NBA bench player, and that's after playing in Europe and in international tournaments for England.

Yet, some people want to give up on 21 year-old Meyers Leonard 4 games into his second season as a pro.
I don't get how some fans seem to not get this. Right now, he is behind Freeland (and LaMarcus) at backup center, and he's behind TRob (and Freeland) at backup PF. No one should expect Leonard to contribute this season. I do however expect him to figure some things out by next year.

BTW: What's up with Claver?

NOTES

  • • Damian Lillard’s 20 3-pointers are the most by a Trail Blazer through the team’s first five games of any season.
  • • Wesley Matthews now ranks fifth on Portland’s all-time made 3-pointers list with 465, surpassing Clyde Drexler (464).
  • • Damian Lillard is only the second NBA player ever to record three or more 3-pointers in each of his team’s first five games (D. Stoudamire – 1996, TOR).
  • • LaMarcus Aldridge has scored 20-plus points in each of the Trail Blazers’ first five games, the first time that has happened since Clyde Drexler did it in 1988, and only the fifth time in Trail Blazers history.
  • • LaMarcus Aldridge is the first NBA player to record at least nine field goals in each of his team’s first five games since Vince Carter (2006, N.J.).
  • • Damian Lillard is the first NBA player to ever record 100 points, 25 rebounds, 25 assists and 20 3-pointers in his team’s first five games.
  • • LaMarcus is the only player to record 54 field goals in his team’s first five games this season and the first since 2011-12 (LeBron James).
  • • Portland and Sacramento both entered tonight’s game averaging 40.75 rebounds per game. The Trail Blazers finished the game with 47 rebounds while the Kings were held to 31.
  • • Thomas Robinson scored a season-high 10 points. Robinson scored eight points on 4-for-4 shooting in his first 5:53 of action.
  • • The Trail Blazers went on a 12-0 run from the 9:11 mark in the third quarter to the 5:56 mark of the third.
  • • Through the first five games of the season, Damian Lillard and Wesley Matthews have scored 33 of the team’s 49 3-pointers.
  • • DeMarcus Cousins scored a season-high 33 points in 33 minutes.
  • • Every Trail Blazer who played in tonight’s game scored.
  • • Nicolas Batum dished out the first four assists for the Trail Blazers.

Blazers fans, learn to love the three: POR 7th in 3-pointers attempted and 8th in percentage. 5th most efficient offense in the league.
Well I'm happy to see that our 3PA and 3P% ranking are finally close to each other. I seem to recall during Nate's years we were something like Top 10 in 3PA but Bottom 10 in 3P% - not sure on the actual numbers, but pretty sure there was a wide gap between the two.

In 02/03 Antoine walker was #1 in 3pa, and 79th in 3pt%

Legendary

He lead the league in FGA that year while shooting .393...not good
