We're not going to trade Rudy for scraps if Fernandez continues to light it up like he has in pre-season.

Are you saying the NYC might be more apt to make a move for Rudy because of this injury?

We should trade Roy! Rudy and Wesley are both having a better pre-season than Roy!

truth!

Rudy's play has to be catching the eye of many GM's around the league! But his comments during training camp are killing him!

I still don't really see anything on that team that I would want, except for Randolph, and I'm not really sure where he would fit. I like Turiaf though.

What about Bayless and Pendergraph for Turiaf?

I think we'd be fine at b/u PG with Miller's durability, Roy's desire to handle the ball, and spot minutes for Johnson, Rudy, the ability of Batum or Matthews to handle at 2/3.

The Bayless experiment may be over, and Dantoni has to love how fast he is and his ability to get into the lane (better than anyone else on that team). I think he'd likely be better for NY than Fernandez. Turiaf would be a quick fix no doubt, but he's used to not playing much, goes very hard, and would give us a lot of frontcourt insurance.

I'd take an unprotected #1 pick from NY for Rudy. Could pay off really well for us.

I am telling you don't be surprised if Rudy ends up staying here and fitting right in. I think that Rudy's problems have illuminated the fact that maybe, the team had been shutting him out somewhat, and what was really needed in this situation, was for team members to embrace him and include him in their social circles. My guess is, everything works out just fine. Here in Portland.

Always a possibility.

Word is, he went out beer-ponging Friday night. Heh, woulda loved to have seen that.

"Ru-Dy! Ru-Dy! Ru-Dy! Ru-Dy! Ru-Dy! Ru-Dy! "

I hope it has the same impact on a team that a positive fight can have. Kind of like breaking the tension (opposed to increasing the tension).

Dear Lord no. Turiaf is a decent bench player, but Bayless is a young guy who is still has a ton of potential.

Turiaf on a pure talent for talent basis compared to Bayless is probably a bit of a downgrade, but what exactly is Bayless' role going to be on this team moving forward; it's looking more and more like he could be a bit of a square peg in a round hole because his greatest strengths don't exactly mesh with the people around him and the areas where he is weaker are glaring team needs.

Turiaf won't get off the bench, either, once we get a couple of guys healthy. I'd rather have a prospect collecting pine time than a rather expensive veteran.

I'd rather have an abundance of guys that can play the 4 and the 5, than a boatload of 2's.

I'd rather have a bunch of young guys that might be able to play at a high level someday than lots of veterans who have already demonstrated they cannot.

Turiaf has demonstrated he can play in the league. He's one of the best per minute shot blockers in the league. That said, not sure if I'd trade Bayless for Turiaf.

I don't completely agree, but I can see where you're coming from.

I think you "hit" upon something there. Rudy should pick a fistfight with someone who won't be here anyway and who he can beat, like Mills. He could make fun of his name Patty and then kick his ass. This might earn him more playing time, from McMillan being impressed, and by eliminating a rival.

And if it doesn't, it might get him traded fast, like Bonzi. A win-win for Rudy.

I want some of what you're smoking. Seriously.

I'd rather have vets who have proven they can contribute in limited minutes and have a good attitude coming off the bench than young guys at the end of their rookie deal looking to impress and take over at the expense of others whenever they get a limited opportunity.

Turiaf does kind of suck, but won't ever mess up a teams continuity or flow because he's a good defender, good passer, and incredibly hard worker on the court.

Miller/Rudy/Johnson
Roy/Matthews/Williams
Batum/Matthews/Cunningham
Aldridge/Camby/Turiaf
Oden/Pryzbilla/Turiaf

If anybody goes down we'd be fine (except for Miller). I think there's a lot of insurance and flexibility on that roster.

Basically you got a five man unit and then Rudy spotting 1-2, Matthews spotting 2-3, Cunningham 3-4, and Camby at 4-5, Turiaf (and Pryzbilla) become insurance.

I've got ten bucks on Patty
