I know some would love to have some good news; or possibly the Brass making a conscience effort to land some talent; but I can see positive if we did nothing at all.

Are we a better team? That can be argued. If we could somehow have Landry and Crawford; then we would be a better team. But good enough to reach the promise land? I don't think so.

There are some key free agents: D. Will, Howard (If he opts out; but probably a snowball's chance in hell in getting him), Hinrich, Posey, Mohammed, Brand, and Okur. Also, we have arguably one of the strongest drafts in the NBA since the Durant and Oden pool.

I think this is a great opportunity to see just what exactly our team needs. Give some of the youngsters some burn and maybe one turns out to be a diamond in the rough. Use our cap flexibility to either help a luxury team get under with talent rewarded, sign a good free agent or agents, and buy a few picks.

I won't say that I'm not rooting for Landry and/or Crawford to join our ball-club; but we might be taking that approach as well. Who knows, we may just wait just before the deadline and see just how desperate other teams are to get rid of their stars. If that's the case, then we will be sitting in a perfect position to make a blockbuster deal.
