We also can't forget that it would be a risk for anyone to sign him based on the problem with his heart-beat that he had last season. I think that was part of the reason that the Nets were not crazy about Swift.
I don't ussually like to speed up time, but I can't wait until the 22nd. If the Nets really sign SAR, they are finally going to have a legitimate scoring big man. K-Mart could score, but he was not a scorer, he had to work really hard for his points if Kidd was not directly feeding him the ball. SAR can be the guy to whom the Nets can give the ball in half court and actually expect something positive to occur.
We cannot forget that SAR can be a phenomenal passer for a big man. If he draws double teams, then Carter might open up (we all know what happens alot of the time when Carter gets the ball).

The only concern that I have about SAR is his defense. I do not see him a defensive stopper. I do not think that he compares with K-Mart in that department. I sure hope that he will be an adequate defender becuase we all know that defense wins championships.

If SAR can guard Duncan as well as R. Wallace, then the Nets got the perfect man.

Which comments were these? I said it before and I'll say it again, VC is one one my favourite players, and always has been, but he has nothing to do with why I think the Bulls are better. Chicago plays better defense, and has more depth. If the Bulls lose a key FA, then New Jersey could probably be a top 4 team (not talking about playoff seeds, because the Atlantic winner automatically gets a 3rd seed). New Jerseys starting lineup might be better, but Chicago's bench spanks New Jerseys.

I agree with you on that. Their bench war really great last Ben Gordon being the 6th and stepping up was great for them. But if the nets cant get at least 2 decent players like Dooling and another PF/C combo then their bench will be set.

jason collins to me will be great off the bench since he played almost what 2-3 seasons as a starter.

I like Rodney Buford better than Ron Mercer, but i really wish we could have landed vashon leonard he would have been great.

Best and Vaughn will be great i like tbest game better than vaughns.

Antoine wright also once he get adjusted to nba play. Even though i have been watching the summer league and i'm not impressed.

Jabari Smith great for a back up and to fouls to give. But where is Keon Clark I would love to see him in a Nets Jersey. He would be a great bench player.

And if get Keyon Dooling then we are set. How about Kareem Rush i like his game.

We would just need a big body that could bang on the boards when the starts are on the bench like Robert traylor or lets take a chance on stanley Robertson (ahhahaha)j/k

As for VC, it wasnt just that he left, or that he wanted to leave its that he didnt try and admitted to not trying. People spent their hard earned money to watch a multi millionare pout because the frontoffice didnt hire the GM he wanted and they wouldnt trade Bosh for a veteral role player like VC wanted...LOL.

That has nothing to do with jelousy, and nothing to do with my need to be happy for what he did for Toronto. he did do stuff...he was big, but no one is to big to stop trying. Not when you're making some countries GDP for playing a game. Bosh hasnt done 1/2 the stuff VC did...true enough. But Bosh is 20 just turned 21....Vince wasnt even a Raptor by then so if you wanted to compare Bosh is ahead of Vince already.


SAR is good pickup for the Nets, although i think Marshall would of been better. Maybe its bias but he seems like he'll be able to play off the ball better and bring more aggression and some of the intangables that SAR might lack.

The Blazers want Ilic in the sign adn trade for Rahim and I owuld like Rush, he can shoot the ball well, and is a solid defender.

Lol, nobodies been talking about about McCoy ever since he got STUFFED by Dwyane Wade. Keon Clark was apparently supposed to join the Cavs last summer, but he didn't go to a meeting. I havn't heard anything about him ever since.

Shareef is a very nice signing for the Nets, he makes them a Top 4 team in the East. You have to consider that last year with just Carter and Kidd, their record played like that of a Top 5 team in the East, and now with Jefferson back, the improvement of Kristic, and Shareef, they'll be a force to reckon with.

I don't see how they become a mediocre team with an injury. They are one of the top teams as of now, top 4. It all depends on who they lose to injury.

If they lose RJ to injury, they still are a playoff team because the Nets have a player by the name of Wright who can step in and start.

If they lose VC, that would be different, but still, with Wright, and the other offensive weapons on the team, everyone can step and help fill the void for him.

If Kidd goes down, then that's the biggest injury. Obviously the roster is not done because they still have a few key roster spots to fill (backup PG/PF). They will undoubtedly sign/acquire a FA PG this off-season as a backup for Kidd like Dooling, Lue or Pargo.

If this team does have an injury to one of their starting 5 players, they will still be better than a mediocre team.

I would put the Nets as the 4th team in the East. I would put them above the Bulls just because of their experience. The Nets had been successful already. They actually have a stronger line up than what they had when they were the East Champs. They actually now have a post presence, a half court game, a scoring center oh and don't forget VC and hopefully SAR.

Also, Nets had been in adversity before and they came out of it. We know that if one of the starters come down with an injury, u know they won't just roll up and die. The Bulls are young ones but very talented. I'm sure it will all boil down to breaks to or against the teams. Things like injuries, internal strifes or something like that. Kidd and company had been there before and they came out on top of it.

Oh and regarding the weak bench. Come on! This is Thorn we're talking about! I'm sure he can put someone decent in there. If not, then we all know what Frank can do with a mediocre bench.

Yea that's not good at all, but on ESPN I heard that they already reached an agreement to NJ, so it's most likely false that Sacramento will get SAR.

Last time I checked any team who has a key point guard(which is just about every team in the league because the pg spot is so vital) becomes mediocore, the games Steve Nash missed last year the Suns became Mideocore, Cassell wasnt healthy last year and the Wolves were mediocore. So to say if Jason Kidd goes down the Nets become mediocore goes without saying........but if anybody else gets injuried the Nets can still stay a float in the East and that includes Vince Carter....now if a bunch of injuries pile up at once like certian points of last year then that is a different story.

Yeah, I remember watching one or two games where we only had 7 players available to play, as so many people were injured.

It does not matter if Shareef Abdur-Rahim committed to the Nets. Unless he is willing to take the MLE, the Nets need to work a sign and trade. According to the NJ Post, the Blazers would need to aqquire a 1st round Draft Pick for Shareef. And the team that would give the 1st are the Kings. Also to note, rumors have it that the Kings, Blazers, and Nets are talking about a 3-way trade. But, I have no idea what the deal would be, who would get Rahim, etc.
