British actor David Ryall has died, aged 79.
The Harry Potter star passed away on Christmas Day (25Dec14), his daughter Charlie confirmed on Twitter.com. The cause of death was not known as Wenn went to press.
Ryall's career in film, Tv and theatre spanned five decades but he is most famous for playing wizard Elphias Doge in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1.
In his early career, he enjoyed roles in Tv series On the Line, The Singing Detective, The Borrowers, Goodnight Sweetheart and Casualty.
His film credits include the 2004 remake of Around the World in 80 Days, Quartet, Black Beauty and the 2014 critically-acclaimed biopic Mr. Turner.
