I'd be interested in bringing him back in some sort of capacity....as GM though? I'm hesitating.

im sure he knows talent, but we need a guy who can trade for all stars, trader bob!

Why? The dude's been around the NBA for 40 years. He knows what it takes to build a good team, he'd just need a Tom Penn type around him.

He's too accomplished to be an assistant coach. I like that he's still interested in working for Allen.

He kept a keg in his office when he was head coach in Portland. He'd need a full mini-bar if he were GM.

I'd do this for the sole reason that he wouldn't be persuaded by Nate McMillan.

He's been associated with the NBA in some form since 1968. I'd say he's qualified just as long as he has a number cruncher, contract negotiating assistant (like a Rich Cho/Tom Penn).

So basically what I just said?

Yeah. We definitely more salary cap pikers who don't know shit about basketball.

....and we definitely need more basketball guys that dont know shit about the CBA....

We've supposedly had the "best cap geniuses" and they couldn't even trade out RLEC, which was considered one of the best trade assets in NBA history.

Who's miami's CBA expert? who's dallas'? who gives a fuck, they just went out and built a team instead of worrying about the math of it.

If Adelman wants to be a part of the Blazer organization in any way, you let him have it.

I couldn't agree more. Adelman knows what makes a good team, and only needs a capologist next to him.

Paul wanted him fired as head coach. Petrie then resigned as GM because of it. Does anyone really think Paul would tbring him back as GM? Now that is funny.

People can change their minds after a couple of decades. Not saying that Allen has, but he may now have realized that Adelman was an asset, not a liability.

I don't agree with those who want to just fire McMillan and then find someone. I think that's the way you end up making bad, desperate hires. But I'd be fine with McMillan's dismissal if they would hire Adelman.

His first move as GM would be to fire McMillan and hire himself as coach.

What does it matter who the GM is? They're just an order-taker for Allen and Kolde. We might as well hire the guy from the Wendy's drive-thru; at least he has his own headset.

Second coming of Adelman and Petrie? The two-headed GM? Yea right, but a this point I can no longer be surprised by any change of feelings Octopus man has. Who knows, he's got the pocketbook to make just about anyone try a new role.

It would be great if he is hired as GM and his first act would be to sign Petrie as a coach!

What makes you think Petrie wants to coach? He's been a GM for many years, and he's quite good at it. The only arrangement that makes sense is Petrie as GM and Adelman as coach.
