Regardless of tonight's result....lets face it, the trailblazes were a disaster in the pre season. Key word being pre season BUT i dont think things are gonna just gel perfectly come tuesday and all of november. It takes about 20-25 games to see what kind of team you have and who fits where. With that said, the blazers look like it might take a season if the pre season tells us anything. Ive been saying this for weeks now.... every year theres one team that flops who is predicted to be very good. Titans in the NFL is a perfect example. Last year it was the Hornets.
The Bulls in 06 when they were suppose to be the up and coming team. We have that distinct possibility of being that team this year after this dreadful pre season. You can call me a troll or whatever but things seem very shaky to put it nicely.

So do you expect us to hover around 500.? Do you expect us to start really well? Or do you expect us to have a poor record at Novembers end? The good news is we get the twolves twice and kings once which means at least 3 wins.

My prediction is around 500. at Novembers end with a few bad losses.

I expect and demand perfection. Anything less and I'm going to become disenchanted with life, distance myself from my loved ones, flood this forum with hateful comments, and then drink myself into oblivion.

that sounds like a greta idea!

heres the sched in Nov.

Oklahoma City
Atlanta
San Antonio
Minnesota
Memphis
Minnesota
New Orleans
Charlotte
Atlanta
Detroit
Golden State
Minnesota
Chicago
New Jersey
Memphis
Utah

What would Jesus Do? Better yet, what would dick cheney do !

all these guys trying to be cute....

lets see how these guys react if we start badly!

then we will see who is in the "joking" mood

I don't think we win a game. Miller will blow apart our awesome chemistry, and I think brandon demands a trade on Dec. 1.

I'm serious. Cancel the franchise. We're a mess. Just end the misery!

I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if we're playing our home games in Key Arena by Christmas. Paul's moving this team. He's obviously told the players. I mean look, Ime decided to hightail it out of here, because he wanted to play in PORTLAND, not Seattle. Aldridge put his house up for sale. Martell, Brandon, and Nate all have big Seattle connections. The writing is on the wall.

Do you expect anyone to take you seriously? Ever heard the story of the boy who cried wolf...?

...the Blazers might lose a handful of games in Nov. +/- a couple :pimp:

Everybody is jumping on MIXUM's nuts because of his track record, but if you read the content of his first post I don't see anything in there all that controversial or chicken little, my expectations are that this team is going to take awhile to find itself and to establish a sense of identity, because of that I wouldn't be surprised to see this team end the first month of the season at or around .500

Oklahoma City - could go either way
Atlanta - we split with them last year
San Antonio - tough game
Minnesota - should be a win
Memphis - should be a win
Minnesota - should be a win
New Orleans - could go either way
Charlotte - they always play us tough
Atlanta - yet again this could go either way
Detroit - should win this one
Golden State - toss up, they always play us tough
Minnesota - should be a win
Chicago - I tentatively put this one in the win column
New Jersey - should be a win
Memphis - should be a win
Utah -toss up

Without looking at which are the home and away games and assuming we drop one or two we should win and split the other games that are fifty-fifty that's 7 "gimmes" and 9 tossups meaning I wouldn't be shocked to see the team at around 11 and 5 +/- a couple of games in either direction, meaning a worst case scenario of something like 9 and 7 or if the wheels really come off maybe even 8 and 8 or 7 and 9 ...

Regardless of how the record looks after the first month my expectation is that this team will build momentum and by around the all-star break they should finally be really hitting their stride (hopefully). This year's regular season record may be worse than last year's but I'm guessing they'll be much more playoff ready in April when it counts.

And I think that's fine. The Spurs have had plenty of slow starts that ended in Championships.

For November I expect many lineup experiments, maybe a .500 record, and an upset Rudy, a frustrated Brandon, a quietly simmering Steve, and a pouty Andre.

I think we'll jell in November and play above .500 ball.

except the whole preseason nightmare nonsense. Greg looked great, LA got a new contract, no one sustained an injury in meaningless games and everyone (besides maybe Rudy) seems to be in pretty good shape going forward.

whats my expectations for Nov? From the club I see them winning a lot. From the board I forecast endless :ohno:

I think come tuesday the mindset with this team, in particular Brandon Roy, will change. It will all matter then. Every game counts. So I think that's going to make a difference. Does that mean the chemistry will immediately improve? No and probably not. But this team can win in spite of poor chemistry and I do think they will pull a game or two out even if they are struggling to get it right with each other.

i dont believe you can just turn things on... just cause of a calendar saying its real game time

I do not believe you can throw a team under a bus just because you believe in it's individual members... It's a different belief system, apparently.

im not throwing them under the bus... im being honest... this team could struggle big time.

How is MIXUM throwing the team under the bus?

I think this is a valid thread. I expect the team to struggle early, because it seems far-fetched to me that suddenly Blake/Miller will start stopping penetration and that Blake/Miller will start doling out a bunch of assists.

I'll go with 9-7 after 16 games, and then things start to become more fluid and the team gets on their annual December roll.

He was not. He claimed that KP did last year after the trade deadline - which proved to be a very poor prediction.

In other words, I am trying to infer that just because he believes or does not in a specific rule - does not mean that this rule applies in the real world.

I think it is a valid thread as well. I just pointed that dismissing someone's opinion because of a "belief system" that does not seem to be well supported by historical data - is a murky proposition.

I'll go with 9-7 after 16 games, and then things start to become more fluid and the team gets on their annual December roll.

I am a bit more optimistic. I think we will have up to 5 games of adjustment and then we start rolling.

The pre-season so far, had too much change, experimentation and small-injuries for me to consider as anything other than an anomaly.

Internet trolls are interested in meeting their own attention-needs, which are often unmet in their real life, and may suffer from various psychological disorders.

I think the schedule is favorable enough for them to come out better than that. If it was this years team with last years schedule with all the road games. I would be more concerned.

so you don't think the team and coaching staff will approach games differently and play differently now that they actually count for something?

I expect the team to be about 10-6 for that period.
