For number of years I was part of a storm team that performed several task including getting there before they hit and helping out afterwards.
One of my responsibilities was also helping with logistics as far as getting truck loads of equipment / supplies to States that could be effected both direct hits and broader areas.
We would stage semis in advance of these storms and they could move elsewhere in quick fashion.
Based on my experience its not unrealistic at all the Bama and Georgia were potentially targeted for peripheral damage. That Gulf coast of Bama is easily effected by a direct hit of florida.
I just don't understand why people make such huge deal out of this including Trump, but for those that participate in the rhetoric don't understand the preparedness that goes into these storms.

Ive tracked hurricanes since I was 8 years old (2003) and what he said went against procedure and had a near impossibility of occuring.

The public easily finds the government untrustworthy if they misinform the public (or in many cases, the public feels lile theyre mislead because the storm took the opposite side of the forecast cone). This can lead them to ignoring warnings in the future which puts lives at danger when they need to help of people like you. Thats why its a big deal.

The fact that he doubled down on it with a sharpie over an official forecast is comically ridiculous.

come on man don't be such a correct all. A comment was made that his kids worked for him! I commented on that subject as nepotism as it pertains to his kids working for him and his business's.
In government its usually refereed to as cronyism.
