What if we had just gotten the #3 pick. All this pain would go away. Who would we have taken? KP probably would have taken some bum like Corey Brewer, but at least we wouldn't have to deal with this.

I wonder, if the Sonics had won, would they have taken Durant over Oden? Oden was really the guy everyone was tanking to get. I remember watching the lottery that year, when we won. I felt like we had just landed the next Shaq, the next dominating big man.

But it was all just a dream.

What a great day that was at the time, and what a horrible day that has now become in hindsight.

Every franchise that did that would have been held hostage for 3 season as well. We were the unlucky fans.

I still think we're cursed and if we had drafted durant, he would be the one injured.

The 2007-2008 Blazers. Things were so simple then and the future was bright. When the team could lose and people wouldn't freak about it. .500 record was success that season.

That still gave me chills watching it ... But never could've imagined it'd be like this three years later. That was one of those "where were you when it happened" moments ... Ugh.. I'm so depressed thinking back on the last three years.

Sad thing is, THAT was our pinnacle. That was our "championship", it never got better than that. The best we Blazer fans get is hoping that we'll win a title, or even be a legit contender. Unless we really get lucky and land a steal in a draft, we're going to be very mediocre for a long time. Hey, we did it with Drexler in 84.

hah, TBpup is pretty prominent in that video (the guy who originated the hold onto your shorts rumor which ended up being the ZBO trade). The thing was, he was huge on drafting Durant.god those were the days.

I don't think we could have even wrote a worse pile of shit tome of what has happened since then.

I remember that year, and winning 17 of 18. But considering a .500 season a success, just shows how pathetic we were for so long.

And it was great. I think people were just happy the Jail Blazers era was officially over and the team at the very least played hard and was a little competitive as well

That was a fun season... so many great memories of seeing a young team come into their own and watching their growth. I remember watching all those games in the highlights at the time, and thinking it was only a matter of time when we were contenders... oh well.

Not the words I would have chosen ...

Back when Outlaw was being talked about in columnists' trade rumours as a hot commodity.

Heady days, indeed.

It was great because we were all looking forward to getting Greg Oden. And we thought, if Roy, LA and the rest of our young gang are this good now, imagine how good they'll be 2 years from now. We thoght everyone was going to improve, and we'd get a dominant center to boot.

But remember, we actually won like 17 of 18 games....almost half of our wins were in one steach, and the rest of the season was pretty lean.

Now we are not so young. Our two "leaders" are over 35. Our "star", LaMarcus, isn't even good enough to be an all star. Roy's days of greatness seem to be over. We have some nice young role players, but not enough to make us much more than a mediocre team.

fuck. i remember when Oden's first pre-season game was top story on sportcenter.

I remember when Portland wasn't a cursed, hipster laden, dream crushing rain factory and Oregonians got to have something nice.

Oh wait, no I don't.

That dunk in the summer league was the pinnacle for me. I couldn't imagine someone doing that so easily. Little did I know that the lift he got on that play was from his knees exploding.

You mean the legendary preseason Kings game? And what happened right after that... we lose Webster due to a stress fracture in his foot for basically the whole season, if I recall. f*#)$R#@($
