OT All Gone To Look For America

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

And I will absolutely guarantee you I acquire at least one speeding ticket in every state on the way home for that! And worth every penny.

You don't have to pay them if you don't get pulled over before you leave the state.

When I moved to Bellingham in 1974, I got a California speeding ticket a hundred miles south of the Oregon border, same? day an Oregon ticket just north of the border. Ha ha ha!

Sounds great. Lucky you! I've driven cross-country twice and love it.

If you go north, I swear, the Black Hills, Mt. Rushmore, and South Dakota are weirdly great. Long live Wall Drug!

Drive safe!

You should try to eat at a Carl's Jr and Hardee's in the same day. #hardcore

Planning to join at least once, but hoping for two meet ups. I gotta work around my own travel plans (including heading to Pebble Beach tomorrow).

I'd like to see the Dirty South and the last stretch heading home west from the middle of the country.

I've always wanted to do this because I've only been to three states, but I'm too much of a pussy to do it on my own.

This x1000 ive been thinking hard about moving to SD

You hitting up El Paso or Key West at all? I'll be going to both this summer. Interested in some of the perspectives.

...I used to live in Key West back in the 70's...it's obviously changed a bit since then but I still go back every so often...very laid back, in fact, the atmosphere is somewhat like the Bahamas...Duval Street is the place to be and do yourself a favor and check out Mel Fisher's museum, you'll be blown away. I vaguely remember him as just a salvage guy back in the day before he found "the mother lode"...pretty incredible story actually. And he never forgot all the people who helped him along the way.
...I still have a "piece of six" necklace to this day around my neck.

bookmarked it. yeah, going on the 4th of july, probably get there mid day and will prob spend the next day and a half just hanging out.

Hemingway's House, the Truman White House, the Mile Marker 0 (gonna rep Lillard gear there) and Duval street are on my list to do. Probably get a few bar T-shirts from Sloppy Joes or some shit like that too.

Went to Key West for the first time last fall. I thought it was awesome. Basically a laid back French Quarter with tropical climate. We did all the stuff you have listed @EL PRESIDENTE . The other thing we did was take a pontoon plane to Tortuga. That was a blast. You can also take a boat. Watch out for chickens.

Yeah, looked at Tortuga but that seems like an all day kinda thing. May not have time.

any idea when you might be around the northeast? hit me up!
It depends on when and where my wife joins me, but it's looking like the middle third of June. And I appreciate the offer! I'll see what I can do.

Definitely going to hit Portland Maine but we're not sure after that. But I'm certainly looking forward to it!

The Maine coast is beautiful. If you have the time, the trip out to Acadia National Park is well worth the trip.

I'm jealous....would love to do a road trip like yours UCD! Have a great journey and remember....it's easier to travel west than east...HAPPY TRAILS!!!
