LA makes 2nd team for the first time in his career. Dame drops off the list from his 3rd team appearance last year -- I wonder if this affects his DRose max contract extension?

They should add a Fourth Team, then the next season's All Star game could be First versus Second, with 1st getting 4th team as a bench and 2nd getting 3rd as a bench.

Part of the new labor deal will allow rookies getting their second contract — which starts with their fifth season — to earn the new max of up to 30 percent of the salary cap (up from 25 percent). To qualify for the bump all they need to do is win an MVP award, get voted into the All-Star Game as a starter two times or twice in their first four seasons or get named to any level of the All-NBA teams in those four seasons

Not really surprised. Dame had a horrible second half of the season. Whether it was an injury, fatigue, or just bad basketball, he didn't deserve to make the team.

Agreed. I wouldn't say I'd pick the 2nd Team over the 1st Team, but I've never seen them so close in talent level before.

Apparently in the majority of the media, he is a #1 all team. In YOUR opinion, which DOESN'T count towards this... he is overrated. But, it doesn't matter in this instance. So, your opinion isn't fact in this case, whereas the opinion of the media chosen to choose the teams, is. So....

Considering that "overrated" is by its very nature a subjective term, the opinion of the person using said term completely matters. KS believes that the media think more highly of Gasol than they ought. Him being on the first team doesn't subvert that argument, it supports it.

One is fact based on opinion, one is an opinion of an opinion that was rendered fact. I suppose it doesn't discredit it, but it's also futile to argue it.

People on the general board on realgm are trying to say Aldridge doesnt deserve 2nd team. That he puts up garbage stats and was nothing until lillard came along. Then they go on to say that lillard was by far our best player last year.

That's funny because I think you could argue Aldridge was the better PF than Davis this year and deserved to be on the first.
