Biden getting full Hillary treatment. He should resign because he's old. Trump, virtually same age, clearly deranged, 34 felony convictions, hundreds of millions of dollars owed in civil and criminal penalties, is not told to quit. A Biden gaffe, and he has been gaffe prone since forever, is a sign of dementia. Trump calling for execution of former Republican Congresswoman and daughter of former vice president is just Trump being outrageous again. Biden's actual acts as president ignored.
In barely over a week New York Times called for Biden to quit, on July 4 ran front page op ed suggesting no need to vote at all, and another front page story how felon had been a badge of shame but Trump redefining it.
Washington Post in article on Project 2025 said "Democrats think" it will end democracy. Project 2025 says so explicitly. Post frames it as partisan disagreement. Nothing to see.

I guess the question is what Trump didn't know and when he didn't know it.

Maybe he has dementia. He seems to forget a lot of things.

This is a good analogy:

Just because you think that Alfred is too old and feeble to take care of the Bat Cave, is that really a good reason to fire him and hire the Joker instead?

Better one, a cartoon I saw. Trump trying to sing lead with Rolling Stones. Caption said they thought Mick Jagger was too old so they replaced him. I hadn't realized Mick Jagger actually is older than Trump. I'd still vastly prefer him with the Stones.

Man, sure does look as if the DNC is trying to get Joe to drop out.....sad

I think 6 reps out of 200 want him to drop out. Media is just doing a blitz on it because they think it would be spicy for ratings.

Pelosi chimed in today saying that Joe should reconsider continuing his election campaign. That's a pretty big gun shooting across Joe's bow.

I guess....you're right the media I think behind the committees try and get what they want.

Will the people who say they will not vote for Biden vote for a woman? Especially a woman of color? It's a real question.
Or do Democrats shove aside the vice president and find a white male somewhere?

I think it’s most important a candidate that we can feel confident will win. Regardless of race, gender or ethnicity. A lot is at stake.

The more I thin about the more I think Joe should continue to run....He will beat Trump regardless how Sharpe he is. Most people / dems that say they won't vote now for Joe, will. Including George. What an ass hole.

If anyone thinks its going to be easy to pick a new candidate, and everyone will quickly unite behind them... there are plenty of people still angry about Hillary/Bernie, and that's 8 years ago now and involved a full set of primaries. Whoever emerges from the smoke-filled room will have a real challenge to get people focused on the election and not on why their preferred guy/gal didn't get the nomination.

I think the only way Biden is off the ticket before the election is if he evokes 25 and Kamala runs the show for a couple months. Not sure if it would be enough to rally voters but she could at least use funds from the current campaign, from my understanding. If there's a whole new nominee, yeah, there'd be some very angry people. Crazier things have happened I guess but I don't see any way of getting out of pulling the lever for Biden this November.

Kamala Harris is one of the most unpopular and unqualified people to ever sit in her seat. It has nothing to do with color or sex (the only traits you seem to care about) either. The woman is a total moron. The Democrats need a new ticket badly.

At least to me, it seems like such a meager point. Harris is a heartbeat from the presidency right now. If the Dems make a change and Michelle Obama doesn't suddenly have a complete change of heart and run, Harris probably would be the candidate replacing Biden. If Biden stayed in and god forbid died before election day or before inauguration day, Harris still would be the one stepping into his shoes. I can't imagine her cabinet would be very different than Biden's.

The big thing is Trump is totally unfit for office. He brings all of Biden's bad qualities and a truckload of others. There aren't many worse alternatives for POTUS. There have never been many worse alternatives for POTUS.

I don't need a perfect candidate to vote for over Trump. I just need someone halfway competent and sane who respects our laws and the principles on which our nation stands. I'd vote for a large rock over Trump because at least the rock won't damage the country the way Trump would ... and that's going by what Trump has said he intends to do if he gets back into office.
