If B-Roy can't play in the All Star game, will he go down as an "All Star" this year in the books? (because he was selected to the team, but had to pull out b/c of injury) When people talk about great players, they often refer to how many All Star appearances he had. "He's a 3-time All Star" for example. Along with statistics, how your teams fared/whether or not they won or competed for championships, and how much hardware (MVP's, All NBA 1st/2nd Team, All defensive team, Finals MVP's, etc.) are how we judge the success of a player. It's how we decide if they are HOF worthy or not. Brandon going down/not going down as an "All Star" this season probably won't have any bearing on whether he gets into the HOF when it's all said and done, but it's a small piece of the puzzle.

As far as I know he'd still be counted as an all-star.

He definitely would still be able to count this year as an All-Star appearance on his resume. All selected players plus all injury replacements are considered All-Stars.

Yes he will. If I remember, Duckworth was hurt or Porter was one year when they got selected.
