All things Jalen Duren

Better switchability than D Jordan.
Duren at the FT line in his single college season shot 63%. You'd hope over his professional career that improves into the 70%s but it's not horrible. Jordan is a career 48% from the line for his NBA career which was always a major liability. Also in general, I always viewed DJ as extremely athletic but from a BBIQ standpoint being a bonehead.

I forget if this was posted earlier in this thread, but Larry Brown (Chauncey's coach for the title in Detroit) weighed in on Jalen Duren.

Brown also had something to say about Minott:
Perry also grilled Brown about Minott, the 6-9 wing who averaged just 6.2 points. Despite his jump-shooting woes, the 20-year-old is considered one of those positionless defenders that are all the rage.

“If you draft him, he’ll be like a lottery pick in two years,” Brown said. “He’s young, long, athletic quick. He’s just got to grow and get better. He grew 2 inches when I was there. He’s that high-twitch athlete. So many NBA people have called me about him. A couple of years, you might have a diamond.’’

How Robert Williams Saved the Boston Celtics' Season

For the first three months of the season, the vibes in Boston were decidedly off.

Since January 1st, though, the Celtics have played better defense than just about anybody ever.

The key? They’ve let Williams get weird. Whereas Williams previously functioned as a fairly mundane big, anchored in conservative drop, he’s now used as an all-terrain detonator.

Even if the Celtics aren’t the first team to deploy a jumbo-sized low man (Cleveland does so with Evan Mobley and Milwaukee does so with Giannis Antetokounmpo), they’re unique in that their success feels somewhat replicable.

While Mobley and Antetokounmpo are athletic mutants, Williams is awesome in a more familiar way—it’s easy to imagine Mitchell Robinson or Daniel Gafford or Mo Bamba or Jalen Duren occupying this same role.

Fine....get Bamba AND Duren. :bgrin:

Why not ? Bamba is set to make $7-9 million in Orlando and Duren would make $5 million. Combined that would be well below what Nurkic probably wants.

Someone will likely offer Bamba the full MLE. At that point, I think ORL matches.
