Lopez just posted this old picture on his instagram:

and it prompted me to look up this old article:

When Brook hit the winning shot with two seconds left in overtime Saturday, giving Stanford an 82-81 victory over Marquette, their mother, Debby Ledford, was watching from near the Cardinal’s bench. Her presence and the location of the arena — near Disneyland, in Anaheim, Calif. — were appropriate. Ledford, a high school teacher, raised them as a divorced single parent and encouraged a wide-ranging education along with sports.
She also took them to the theme park to spark their imaginations. “As a kid, it seemed like there were no boundaries to the park; it seemed like it went on and on forever,” Robin said. “It really blurred the line between what was real and what was fantasy.”
...
Although the family was never poor, Ledford scrimped financially to raise her sons. They are now on the verge of wealth, and it seemed reasonable to ask about a term often associated with Disney and overused during this tournament: Cinderella.
“I’ve read some of the original versions; it definitely didn’t originate in Western Europe,” Robin said of the story. “It was Walt Disney’s favorite film. He felt it embodied him the most, the story of rags to riches.”
While in Anaheim, did he return to Disneyland? No, Robin said with a smile; “I’m not going in the park until the tournament’s over.”

Lopez's text with the instagram picture was:

Clearly Disney looms large in his life. Although not, apparently, as large as Michael Jackson...

Belle was my favorite as well.

I'm not sure why, but this makes me like him even more. Perhaps, it's the fact that his mom was a single mom and a teacher (big props to her for raising two boys on a teacher's salary), or the fact that he read older versions of Cinderella and didn't just watch the Disney movie.

This picture is fucking great. The Michael jackson idolatry makes me even like them more. Let's bring in Brook to backup Robin, ok Neil? ;)

After seeing that photo, I would not be the least bit surprised if, at some point in the future, Brook and Robin pool their resources and buy the Neverland Ranch.

that place is CURSED!!!!

He's the one on the right or left?

Is that the girl from Forgetting Sarah Marshall?

Apart from the Suns game, I've been very pleased with Lopez. He seems to be something of a no-stats all-star (like Freeland) in that you watch and you really notice him doing a bunch of good stuff but then he's kind of a non-entity in the boxscore. For one example: Wes was able to saunter in for a dunk (Wes can dunk now!) because Lopez was screening off Duncan so effectively. And it's obvious that our improved rebounding is because of his box-out skills. So even though his rebounding looks anemic compared with JJ's, it's actually allowed us to be much better as a team (I think the same was true of Duckworth back in the day). I'm happier about him every time I watch, even though his numbers look way down from his time in New Orleans.

I agree. His rebound numbers haven't been amazing, but Wes had a career high against Denver, Dame had 7 boards last night, and Batum is rebounding like a madman. I'm sure this is a result of Lopez (and Freeland).

Hey that's what I said.

Lopez's kicks for the home opener (self-customized to show his twin loyalties [by which I don't mean loyalty to his brother]):

The only thing Lopez can do that would really upset me, other than the normal illegal stuff, would be not to wear "Sideshow Bob" on his jersey for nickname night

But then what would Anderson Varejao wear?

Actually, for Lopez it should be Sideshow Rob (short or Robin).
