All Things ….Sexton?

CJ is basically his brother. Dame has come out in the past about being unhappy when his friends are traded or not re-signed. I'm not saying Dame should get all the blame, or even most of the blame, but he has allowed this status quo to go on for far too long. But instead of coming out and saying, "hey I'm done with being happy just being here. I want to win," the dude has been extremely cryptic and there have been some extremely sketchy reports leaked through his mouthpiece.
Why does he need to air that to the media, though? It feels bad enough, IMO, having rumors of him being unhappy. It'd suck if he came out and said I'm done just being happy, I want to win now. Maybe I'm confused by what you want him to do. Say the same stuff he has been, I'm happy here, to dispel rumors? Or push to want out? Or demand Neil make trades and look unhappy?

The only way this rumor makes any sense:

"Hey, Neil, good to see you!"
"You got a deal for me?"
"I sure do, for your shooter who can't play D, I'll give you 2 shooters who can play D"
"Throw in a future 2nd round shooter who can't play D?"
"No prob."
"Done Deal! 30th in D, here we come.... Oh wait."

But he IS airing it to the media through his lackey friend. So I personally would much rather he just come out and tell us what’s on his mind.

you mean his lacky friend who he basically threw under the bus earlier in the year by saying he was full of shit?

Yeah, I would think him saying, if I have something to say I'll direct it to Neil, or however he phrased it, would be interpreted as, don't listen to all the noise, I'm not leaking through people, I'll go direct to the source.

I assume this means that we'd be trying to get him without giving up CJ - which probably means trading Ant.

Collin Sexton Reportedly 'Very Available' This Summer

Collin Sexton is reportedly "very available" to be traded this summer, sources told Jason Lloyd of The Athletic.

Lloyd adds that he no longer believes that the Cavs would sign Sexton to a max contract after speaking to various sources around the league.

Sexton is set to enter the final year of his rookie deal next season.

Teams around the league are aware of his contract situation, thereby hurting his trade value.

Does Collin Sexton blow your skirt up?
No, but if i didn't have to trade a major asset, CJ (cause Dame ain't a part of any of this shit), i would love to acquire him. He can be a major asshole on the court. Has a real edginess about him. And he is talented. He would add some serious attitude we've been missing since Zach's injury. And be the quality backup PG we've been missing. I'd trade Ant for him. or a future 1st. I like Simons, but Sexton is a better right now.

Sexton as a 6th man, his ideal role, he’d be a great addition — and a ginormous upgrade over Simons.

He’s a potential Lou Will clone — and a career 39% from three.

Dame for Sexton is nearly as ridiculous as Dame for Simmons

If the rumor is even worth anything the only reason we're monitoring Sexton is because of Dame trade possibilities. Hopefully that's not true but if it's not then there's no use in discussing Sexton because the source of the Sexton rumor is insinuating that Sexton is a Dame replacement.

FWIW, this was Dame's answer to leaving Portland at the all-star break a few months ago.

I don't understand why people don't get Dame is loyal to the soil. Good to have reminders from the man periodically.

We have to finagle the #3 pick in any deal with Cleveland and draft the Chauncey Billups clone — SUGGS :bored:
As much as I love Suggs, Jalen Green is better, and Suggs' game isn't like Chauncey's.

Short....

Not a good defender....

Doesn't want to come off the bench.....

Bah gawd, that's Neil Olshey's music!
Yea man, that’s Neil’s music lmao.
You can hide your distain for Neil better than that, taking shots at him when it’s not even irrelevant to the topic is a norm now.

This summer has been toxic.

Even this morning, Simmons and his lackey KOC went on and on about how Dame is getting out of Portland on a podcast. Getting so tiring hearing this shit.

But none of these people have followed Dame like we all have here, and no one remembers the GENUINE desire he has to win here and how often he's verbalized it. He has gone unprompted on multiple occasions on national media to voice these exact same sentiments-- but no one remembers that now apparently. Instead you have bandwagon fans like Ice Cube and his son thirsting over Dame all over ESPN. And people like Stephen A, Chris Haynes, and Simmons now fanning the flames of that fire to drive clicks/views/listens. It's embarrassing frankly.

All these cryptic tweets and frustrations from Dame side, the real Dame isn't going anywhere. This is the first time in his career he's flexing his power a bit, and it's clearly warranted. Recall Olshey saying a few weeks back about how he'd welcome Dame driving him every day to take risks in building a better roster. It was a message conveyed (by Dame) and message received (by Olshey). Now let's see what Olshey does. If we're in the same spot next year, it will be time for change, but right now.... all this nonsense is strictly driven by shrills in the media.

If we're talking about Dame... you're totally right. I trust Dame to show up to camp ready to give this season his all regardless. It's Olshey I don't trust. If he takes this season with Dame and fucks it up and Dame demands a trade it will be a demand to Seattle at that point, I would all but guarantee Olshey is out on his ass for the rebuild. If Olshey takes all of Dame's considerable value and gets either a Simmons package or a bunch of young talent and picks and then trades off everyone else in a total blowup rebuild, he probably buys himself three or four years.

So my concern is not with Dame, he's the same dude he's been. The problem is Olshey is the same dude that just threw Stotts under the bus and refused to take even a little blame for last season's results. The guy is a snake that I couldn't trust less.

He’s an elite 6th man type.

How do you go about convincing a young player who truly believes that he’s a starter/1st option to play the Ginobili role?
