Taxes. He's a businessman who plays basketball.I don't get it man.
David Aldridge just said on NBA TV that as far as he knows we still have a meeting with Whiteside. Of course, things can change.
He also just said we will probably throw the max at Parsons....
miami only offered him 4/80 (dont ask how I know). pretty sure he wants five years which is why he will go to dallas or here
cool story broAre you Hassan Whiteside? Blink once for "yes" and twice for "no". I won't tell anyone.
On second thought, the last time we played this once or twice game it didn't end well for this franchise.
I'm not doubting you, just curious about your sources. I wish I had sources besides this forum!cool story bro
Either way my info is legit that Miami is offering 4/80
Weather (if you like the heat), nightlife, not as lilly white, not as many hippies/hipsters.I'm trying to look at Dallas/Portland as neutral as I can and I still haven't come up with one reason outside of $ as to why Dallas is the better option.
We're being ignored in the whole Whiteside conversation which is making me kind of nervous.

With the offer to Parsons, that ship may have sailed.
Yes but if you ever want to get a big free agent in the future you don't dare do that. Agents would stear clients away. A player would think he is next at getting dumped after offer was delivered. We can withdraw our offer at anytime since he didn't agree I assume.

Well it is for me. I have work in 6 hrs. That's not that late for South Beach.
We need 22 mil for Whiteside. We had 24 mil of space. We spent 22 on Parsons.@PtldPlatypus How much money would we have to trade away to receive Whiteside in a sign and trade if we were over the cap?

A couple days ago he was saying it's based on the previous years salary or cap hold. 150% or something..We need 22 mil for Whiteside. We had 24 mil of space. We spent 22 on Parsons.
That leaves 2. We can create about 15 more if we let Hark and Leonard Walk. That's 17.
Need to get rid of 7. Either Aminu or Davis should do it. Not sure I want to, however.

But sign and trading Leonard for $17M wouldn't work?If we're over the cap, our outgoing salaries have to be within 50% of the value of the outgoing salaries to the incoming salaries OR $5M, whichever is less. So in the case of trying to bring in $22M, we'd have to send out at least $17M.
No, because the base year compensation rule would only make our outgoing salary on that deal 8.5M.But sign and trading Leonard for $17M wouldn't work?
