With all the trash talk about the NBA's all-time best team between Shaq and Scottie Pippen the past couple days, it got me thinking. If we had to pick an all-time best team for the Trail Blazers, who would it be? Mine would consist of: Damian Lillard, Clyde Drexler, Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge and Bill Walton.

What would yours be?

Starters: Geoff Petrie, Clyde Drexler, Jerome Kersey, Buck Williams, Bill Walton
Bench: Drazen Petrovic, Arvydas Sabonis, Terry Porter, Cliff Robinson, Maurice Lucas, Scottie Pippen

My all bust team with a super beefy frontcourt.

PG Sebastian Telfair
SG Qyntel Woods
SF Sam Bowie
PF Larue Martin
C Greg Oden

PG - Dame
SG - B.Roy
SF - Clyde
PF - Sheed (this is partially my kneejerk ambivalence toward LaMarcus... not hate... just don't care, AND partially about Sheed's clutch 3's!)
C - Walton

PG - Terry Porter
SG/SF - Brandon Roy
SG/SF - Clyde Drexler
PF - Buck Williams
C - Arvydas Sabonis

Note: Dame will easily surpass Terry Porter as the Blazers greatest PG in franchise history in just a few more years. With that said, I'm going with TP for now.

Porter
Drexler
Kersey
Buck
Sabas

Sad that this could have been a reality with Sabas in his prime. This team with Duckworth instead of Sabonis went 63 and 19.

I like your team though Prez...Buck doesn't make the cut and Sabo only when he was playing for the Russian National team

Old Sabas is a huge upgrade over Duck. My team is balanced and will wipe all other teams away.

Starters:
PG: Roy
SG: Drexler
SF: Prime Pippen
PF: Wallace
C: Walton

Bench:
Porter/Roy/Piotrie
Aldridge/Buck Williams
Sabonis/Prime Bryan Grant

Porter, Clyde, Pipp, Sheed and Sabas. All long, athletic and can play on both ends of the floor. Plus Sheed wouldn't have to the "GUY." In this lineup he would beliked the 4th GUY.

The analytics support it.

Hmmm

Roy
319 games played plus 7 playoff games
19/4/5 per game
20 PER

Drexler
HOF inductee
50 greatest players in league history
Holds multiple Blazer franchise records
Led us to 2 NBA finals appearances
826 ames played plus 94 playoff games
20/6/6 per game
20 PER

Which analytics support it?

Ever hear of win share bro? Or eFG%. What about that

What about a "prime" sabonis over Walton?

I was thinking Prime Sabonis too, but didnt say so. Really they could flip flop, but I Thought Sheed Walton might be the best 2 big defense of all time. Plus I like Sabonis's bigger body off the bench where it is a bit smaller.

That's because Roy did everything for the team he was on. Drexler actually had a dynamic supporting cast. eFG% is a cheesy stat that means shit. TS% is where it's at, which Drexler was better

FG%
Roy .452
Drexler .475

win shares ( I really don't understand this one, so I hope I am getting this right)
Roy 37.4
Drexler 135.6

eFG
Roy .492
Drexler .495

Ry was way better at getting hurt though
