I mean, how can you go without cheese.......seriously? :MARIS61:

Wouldn't they be classified as cheese-eating vegetarians, then?

Lacto Vegetarian - A lacto vegetarian would eat dairy products such as milk, yogurt, and cheese.

From your link - Distinctions are sometimes made between different categories of veganism. Dietary vegans (or strict vegetarians) refrain from consuming animal products, not only meat but, in contrast to ovo-lacto vegetarians, also eggs, dairy products and other animal-derived substances.

Again, my term was "vegan".

Since you seem to know the difference between a vegan and a vegetarian then why the "serious" question about why they don't eat cheese?

Because, pure vegans don't eat "real" cheese. I feel sorry for them. I truly do. "Almost" what Zags said.

That's why.

I could give up cheese much easier than I could give up wearing leather. Plastic/vinyl shoes suck ass.

That said, if someone wants to be a Vegan what the fuck do I care? I sure as hell wouldn't feel sorry for someone who doesn't want to eat cheese.

That's nice.

I don't think that is the right way to look at people who are vegan. Almost like someone saying they feels sorry for you because your christian beliefs don't allow you to do something.

If someone has a strong belief in being vegan and eats accordingly, good for them.

OK, sorry for how I originally related it.

I love cheese SO much, to me it's just a doggone shame vegans don't share that same passion. Oh, and that goes for bacon.

Obviously you really like cheese, some other people either don't like it much or don't consider it important. I'd have a much harder time giving up eggs & butter because I bake. Vegan cakes are limited, that's for sure.

I tried some vegan cheese once - I went through a couple of years of lactose intolerance, although I can now consume in limited quantities. It was AWFUL. Had no flavor, tasted like plastic, wouldn't melt. I also tried soy "cream cheese" and that was awful. Fake food usually is bad.

But I have made vegan meals that were quite tasty.

For example
"Man I love receiving anal sex. And I truly love my life partner Steve. I feel sorry for Christian men, they really don't know what they are missing out on! How could anyone give that up?!"

There are plenty of meat eaters who do not eat bacon. Jews, Muslims, Seventh Day Adventists. And some who eat only poultry or fish, no red meat. Not to mention people concerned about saturated fat!

A friend dated a devout Vegan who swallowed. I didn't bring the seeming contradiction up until I knew they weren't going to date any more...

Oddly, I don't think there's a contradiction there, if you base the use of animal byproducts on the fact that the animals can't consent to us consuming them... I assume your friend consented to having his by-products consumed.

LEARN THE DIET AND THEN POST.

Veggie grill is the bomb. they opened up a few in PORTLAND.

I don't know that vegans particularly care about the treatment of animals. A lot of evidence points to the diet being most healthy.

I don't eat bacon because I don't like it.

That fact makes some people flip out.

I've seen a lot of evidence to the contrary. Humans need animal meat.

See a lot of dead vegans lying around?

Anyhow, if you want the truth about vegans, ask MARIS61. The aliens who abducted him were from vega.
