Haha wow no kidding? Mud in my face NI thats good work.

I'm still surprised by this move. My knee-jerk reaction says "win now mode" (oh hey that should be our slogan btw) but there's just so many swingmen on the team. Hite can maybe get minutes as a third PG; signing Houston would get rid of his SG minutes I believe. BRob loses all hope of seeing playing time.

The implications of such a move also affect Rod Benson of making the team, what with Malik Allen also being given a shot (and one step ahead of him since he already has a contract). If we can buyout BRob and Illic, do we still have enough room to sign Houston, Allen, and Benson?

EDIT: also wtf was up with Rod saying they had no interest? I didn't know smokescreen tactics applied anywhere but the draft.

It is interesting to note that even after Garcia reported in the Daily News that the Nets had no interest, Iannazzone in the Record was reporting the Nets would be going to the Houston workout, a sure sign they had interest. Iannazzone is just a better reporter than Garcia. Maybe Garcia phrased his question wrong or didnt ask the right follow up. In any event, the only real scoop the Daily News had on the Nets all summer turns out to be wrong...not just wrong, but 180 degrees wrong.
