Am I A Complete Dork For Liking This Song?

No, that's not the reason. Guess again!

I'm not the one approaching HCP's dorkness.

I've always appreciated the chord progressions, creative time changes, and incredible musical talent/tightness of DMB, overall. Sometimes, some very strange lyrics....but, hey.

That said, as barfo had already alluded to, you're still a complete dork.

Dave has admitted to being an alcoholic during his earlier albums. I think the lyrics could be attributed to that.

p.s. I enjoy most of their music.

Ahh, Dave Matthews Band... the music most sorority freshmen heard the night they unwillingly had sex with that senior who played ultimate.

...why yes, I did go to U of O in the 90's. :devilwink:

And the senior ignored you after that, didn't he? The cad.

His drummer and bass players are top-shelf, though...

I view the tea party people like I do the occupy folks- I support their right to gather and protest and I agree with some of their views.

One thing I will say... this country is major league screwed up. And I think it worse than most people think. We are now fully past the pint of no return into insolvency. We have one major political party preaching racial/gender/age hate at a fevered pitch that is clearly false and attempting to divide the good people of this country and set them against each other and very few in either party are working together to try and solve some of our major problems. At some point in time (and I think the next 20 years) margin will call. And it's going to be very ugly and lead to even more hate mongering.

Unless...

either the people who still have the guts to think for themselves and not blindly follow their party line start voting schmucks out until we get problem solvers in DC or unless a President comes along who can bring people together rather than divide them and work for the good of the country and not political special interests. Someone like Wilson, Truman or Regan.

You're not a dork for liking it, but you're a dork for starting a thread on this board saying how you like it.

The obvious different is that the Tea Party doesn't take over public areas for months to "protest", and to keep the public from enjoying those areas. The Tea Party actually gets permits for usage of public areas, and the Occupiers don't, and that's completely ironic for both of them.

The rest of your post was boilerplate middle-road platitude, so I won't comment on it, because it was milquetoast.

hmmm

ok

I try to be fair and take a look at the opinions of others

good post for a middle of the road mind set, if I was to base your age alone on this post I would say you are late twentys or very early thirtys. Based alone upon your not being able to take a stand, rather that trying to placate both points of view.

I had the advantage of being alive for JFK, If he were to run today he would have a R on his ticket. Kinda gives you the guage to see how far to the left this country has come

I'm 55. As I've aged I have realized that neither one party has all the answers. I have also realized that while I appreciate the conflict of views, at some point in time both sides need to work to reach acceptable compromises when they disagree. Beginning with the last year of the Bush Sr presidency it has been two parties at war with each other in a "we win, you lose" mentality. Until that stops, things will just continue to get worse with no abatement.
