Out of the Team USA training camp roster is Dame the person who should get the last shot? I believe so...There are certainly other good candidates, which I have highlighted in bold. It's just hard to go against Dame after seeing him do it time and time again in only 2 years, it's like I can't recall him missing a big shot, has he?

John Wall (Wizards), Bradley Beal (Wizards), Stephen Curry (Warriors), Klay Thompson (Warriors), Paul Milsap (Hawks), Kyle Korver (Hawks), DeMarcus Cousins (Kings), Anthony Davis (Pelicans), DeMar DeRozan (Raptors), Andre Drummond (Pistons), Kevin Durant (Thunder), Kenneth Faried (Nuggets), Paul George (Pacers), James Harden (Rockets), Gordon Hayward (Jazz), Kyrie Irving (Cavaliers), Damian Lillard (Trail Blazers), Chandler Parsons (Mavericks) and Derrick Rose (Bulls).

I'd take Dame, Durant, Curry, Beal, George, in that order.

I wonder if it could help him get on the team. On a training camp special aired on NBATV today some one(can't remember who) on the panel said they thought we would possibly see specialists make the team. IE: Kenneth Faried, energy and rebounding.

As much as we Hate that fucking Flopper Harden, He's hit some big time clutch shots (many against us). I'd include him over Brad Beal.

I would have if I hadn't watched his 0% shooting during big moments during us. I'd put parsons over harden!

What?? You do watch the games don't you? Now mind you Harden is a flopping BITCH to me. But you gotta give credit where it was due...

Again, see the 0% clutch shooting in the playoffs. He's anything but clutch on a big stage.

How many get selected off of that list of names? Putting Damian ahead of Durant is just absurd.

Durant would still get in if he went 0/148,287,192. So, yeah.

12 get selected, and you really think it's absurd considering dame the player you want tot make the last shot? He hit 2 buzzer beaters in game 6 of the playoffs. 2/2 on buzzer beaters in the same game. Back to back buzzer beaters vs Detroit and Cleveland. Durant has been in the league 3x as long and hasn't achieved that.

I akin it to a community theater play. Some of the roles are already pre-selected. Durant is one of those pre-selected, and the only way he doesn't get on the roster is if he drops out.

And Dame hit 2 buzzer beaters in game 6? When was the other one?

My apologies. Totally misread your post. I was thinking you meant the last shot of making the roster, like last open slot. BIG difference, haha.

End of the first quarter

Go ahead, name another player from that list who has hit 2 buzzer beaters in the same win and advance playoff game!

Honestly I want to know the last player to hit two buzzer beaters in the same playoff game...and how many times it has happened.

That was 7 points in 37 seconds, too... A four pointer and a three pointer.

Watching harden drives me crazy. Look at those cinder block hands he has 40 seconds in...

Lillard might be number one, but he's definitely top 3 most clutch players currently playing

He also scored on the last play in the third, albeit not a buzzer beater.

Any shot taken in the first quarter is, by definition, not clutch. Should we give guys credit for hitting shots at the end of the shotclock too?

I get what you're saying, but I also wanted to point out that there's a level of clutchness that goes with scoring in the playoffs in general.

Dame missed what would've been a game winning or tying layup against Philly last season. He missed a shot against Lakers too with Meeks playing good D on him.

Jordan missed 26 game-winning shots at the end of games. Players miss shots; great ones will still take those shots the next time.

Here are the clutch stats for last year from 82games.com. Given this, I'd put the following five on the floor:

PG - Lillard Best overall shooter, 2nd is 3P%, 5th in FG%, 6th in FT%
SG - Harden 2nd best overall, 1st in 3P%, 8th in FG%, 7th in FT%
SF - Durant Stats not the best, but you gotta have 2nd best on planet
PF - Davis 4th in FG%, 5th in FT%, don't care about 3P% for bigs
C - Cousins 3rd in FG%, 11th in FT% (but still at 80%)

Who would you choose?

Player Clutch Shooting Percentage Rank
Fg% 3p% Ft% Fg% 3p% Ft% Total
Lillard 47.3% 44.2% 86% 5 2 6 13
Harden 44.3% 45.8% 84% 8 1 7 16
Thompson 44.4% 39.5% 83% 7 3 9 19
Hayward 46.7% 36.4% 83% 6 6 8 20
Curry 41.1% 28.0% 100% 9 11 1 21
Korver 35.6% 38.9% 100% 15 4 2 21
Irving 37.6% 35.5% 89% 13 7 4 24
Durant 37.9% 38.5% 82% 10 5 10 25
George 37.7% 29.0% 90% 12 10 3 25
Davis 48.2% 0.0% 87% 4 16 5 25
Cousins 52.5% 0.0% 80% 3 15 11 29
Faried 66.7% 0.0% 57% 1 17 16 34
Wall 37.8% 22.2% 75% 11 12 15 38
Drummond 61.5% 0.0% 20% 2 18 18 38
Beal 35.0% 32.3% 77% 16 9 14 39
Parsons 36.0% 35.0% 57% 14 8 17 39
Millsap 34.7% 18.8% 80% 17 13 13 43
DeRozan 34.0% 9.1% 80% 18 14 12 44

So, you want Conley... is that what you're saying?

Thanks king speed. I wasn't sure he missed any, it didn't feel like he had.

Of course. But he asked if Lillard missed any potential game winning shots and I answered.

Well dame just did his job, the rest is in the coaches hands. If they leave him off the roster then I hope they find themselves in a clutch situation that doesn't come up the way they wanted it to.

After seeing that injury, I don't want Dame to make the team. If he gets a serious injury, I want it to be playing for the Blazers.

I'd take Durant, Curry and then Lillard, in that order.

Though Korver would be up there, too.

With an open shot where the defense collapses on a great player, the Elie/Paxson/Kerr/Horry type is my pick, too. It takes an MVP-level player to get a great shooter an open shot, though.

They need guys kind of like Mr. George this evening who will give up their body on the defensive end. I think Damian would be willing to this which is why I think he will make a spot.

With Durant gone there is no question dame is the most clutch player on the roster. However there is no way he gets the shot due to the coach k bias.

Ps: Dame had a buzzer beater at the end of the third quarter of game 4 as well...Parsons probably still has nightmares.
