I'd be happy with a top 3 NBA big man but we don't, we just have soft LMA.

When I saw the picture load, I was like "uhh... really? Cousins?" lol.

Does this mean Hashim Thabeet is out of the league?

I know, right? It's as if we have the 3rd best big in the league in the post, but Stotts stupidly makes him shoot jumpers he's 79th best at.

It's weird how LA has more post possessions per game than Cousins, and is 3rd in that list for post possessions per game... I must be reading this data wrong.

No, you're reading it correctly. It's saying that Cousins has 8 possessions in the post per game, and LMA 8.5. What it doesn't say is that Cousins has 337 of his 487 shots in the paint (69.1%), while LMA has 268 of his 753 (35.6%) in the paint. So yes, LMA has more "post possessions per game", but Cousins has way more shots per game in the paint and a better result when he does do so.

That's not to say LMA sucks at it at all (he's #3, only a couple of percentage points behind), it's to show that LMA, for whatever reason, #3 in the league in post offensive efficiency and 79th in mid-range, but shoots much more outside. Or in other terms, where Cousins has 150 shots outside the paint to go with his 8 post possessions, LMA has about 500 shots outside the paint.

All this says is that he is the worst of the best.

Why the hell does Boogie get half the shots LMA does if he's so fucking awesome?

He gets 17 shots per game, which for most teams is the team leader. And he's been out for 14 games, so pure counting stats are down. But LMA and K*be are the only players averaging 20, unless you round up, in which case you get Westbrook and Melo. If you're a fan of counting stats (I'm not, particularly) you could say that Cousins has a double-double in 23 of his 28 games played, while LMA has 20 in his 37.

Part of what makes him "so fucking awesome" is that in his 17 shots per game he takes 70% of them in a place where he's the best in the league at what he does. Which makes him have a higher ppg, a higher ppm, a higher pps, a higher rebounding rate, more blocks/g, more steals/g, more assists/g than the "top 3 big man in the NBA". In fact, people rightly bring up that LMA is one of 3 players in the NBA in Top 10 in rebounding and points per game. But Cousins is the only one in the Top 5 in both.

I don't get the hostility towards Cousins. You can still like LMA while acknowledging that Cousins is good.

And vice versa. I'm hostile towards that jack wagon who uses Cousins to say LMA sucks. I've ignored him so I forget his username, but he sucks.

you'd think Cousins would've been the one who got hurt, tho.

So let me get this straight. Aldridge posts up more, turns the ball over less and actually scores more than Cousins?

Who said we would be a better team with Cousins instead of Aldridge?

Cousins is the asshole 2nd-coming of Rasheed Wallace. The refs will mind-fuck him his whole career.
Was that enough swearing? Should have said ass-fuck. Damn.

Sure would like to have both....... along with Lillard. LA, DMC, Dame along with two outside shooters spreading the floor would be incredible.

DMC is a very good passer as well. He just needs to play with more vets.

Cousins is extremely talented - EXTREMELY talented, but he may just be the dumbest player in the NBA. He lets the refs and his opponents take him out the of the game mentally and then he literally takes him self out of the game by getting tossed or fouling out. That 6th foul last night on Thomas Robinson is a perfect example. It was one of the dumbest fouls I have ever seen and most likely cost his team a win.

At the time the score was tied 89-89. Robinson was cutting from the elbow to the corner - to clear space. He wasn't even involved in the play. So, what does Cousins do? He cuts him off and bumps him hard to deny his cut. He does it RIGHT in front of the official and it's a very obvious, very easy call to make. Why???? Did he actually think the Blazers were setting up Robinson to drain the corner 3? No (obviously). One can only speculate what was going through Cousins' mind, but it looked like he was trying to send a message, trying to physically intimidate Robinson. TRob was challenging Cousins physically and frustrating him. That foul sure looked like a frustration/retaliation foul to let Robinson know Cousins is "The Man" and not to try to challenge him physically.

Yeah, he was "The Man" alright. The man watching from the bench as his team got beat. The very next score was a lay up by Lillard that put the Blazers ahead 91-89 - a lead they would never relinquish. Do you think Lillard would have made that lay up if Cousins was still in the game protecting the rim and blocking shots? I guarantee you Lillard would not have driven right down the lane for that uncontested, back breaking dunk with 34 seconds left if Cousins had been in the game. But he wasn't. He was on the bench watching his team get beat because he's a fucking idiot. Physical giant, mental midget.

He has the talent and physical tools to be one of the best players in the game, but he'll never LEAD his team to any significant post season success. For Cousins to ever win a title, or come close, he'll need to be the No. 2 to a player like Lillard, Curry, etc. It would be interesting to see how Cousins would handle being the second best player on his team. Does he have the mental strength to handle that, or will he always be limited to being a great player on a losing team?

Had you not put Cousins there, I would have sworn you were talking about Westbrook.
