A big injury in a completely meaningless fourth preseason game. Teams will never learn.

Had him on my fantasy team. I'm fugged.

Putting him on your fantasy team doesn't make much sense. He wasn't going to play much anyway. That must mean your RB's are awful. I'm actually glad fantasy wise. I have Wilson. I didn't need a far less talented RB taking 5 to 8 of his carries. I'm also a little glad for the team. This team sucks at running it on short yardage. They need to pass the ball more anyway on short yardage downs. Yet, Gildope and TC continue to love having their RB's run into the line and then punt.

Yeah my RB group is pretty bad.

Don't feel bad, my WR core might suck beyond belief. I have Nicks and I need a big year from him. I picked up Givens who I think might have a really good year. I have Randle just in case Nicks goes down. My third WR is shaky to say the least. I have Mike Williams who isn't very good. Picked up this kid Thompkins on NE. Who knows what he will do. Pick up Roberts on the Cardinals. Palmer says he loves him so he should get some touches.

Basically I need Nicks to stay healthy and Givens to really break out. Otherwise, my WR's blow.

Yeah I knew during the draft I should focus more on RBs but it just felt right continuing to draft TD-happy receivers. Ended up with Jimmy Graham, Gronkowski, Colston, James Jones, Golden Tate, and Josh Gordon. Brees starting QB and Texans D/ST. I'm gonna get reamed when the Saints have a bye but if I'm hoping I get a few weeks where the Saints guys go off and/or a few of those receivers have really big games and I can run away with the matchup.

Andre Brown was my 3rd RB and going to start at flex for me. Gronk is injured and Josh Gordon is suspended the first two games. I just picked up Crabtree to put in my IR slot. I put a claim in on Woodhead, who just got dropped, but I'm not very high on the waiver wire and all of the other available waiver guys are shit. The league is made up of 100% huge Niner homers who think Crabs is an elite WR so I'm hoping I can keep Crabs in the IR spot most of the season and then trade him for decent value later in the season.

Giant running game is awful. Thanks to the poor OL. And the continued
putrid play calling by OC & HC. This is major reason why G-men are
average at best.
And what about talented depth at RB?just a
bunch of mediocrity...........

They need to open up the passing game even more with the receivers they have. Like Dump said there's no reason to let the run get stuffed on every third and one situation. Use the tight end or use slants and pick up the damn first down. Their corp of receivers is at the top of the league if not the best. They need to act like it and enable Wilson to be the speedy big play running back that he is.

Anyone scared of the speculation the giants might try to sign mcgahee or turner? Or is that all crap?

Chances are Brown will be missing the first eight games of the season so chances are they bring somebody in. I would seriously look to see if Jacobs would come back for the veteran minimum. If he sucks you just cut him.

My fantasy draft is tonight, so I could make adjustments to my rankings before the draft... still sucks though

ok... my league is 14 teams, and I'll admit, I'm not happy with my QB, but whenever I would be ready to take one, someone else would take him and then the next best wasn't worthy of that draft slot... anyway, here is my team...

QB Andy Dalton, Cin QB
RB Chris Johnson, Ten RB
RB Arian Foster, Hou RB
RB/WR Giovani Bernard, Cin RB
WR Marques Colston, NO WR
WR Dwayne Bowe, KC WR
TE Jimmy Graham, NO TE
DP James Laurinaitis, StL LB
D/ST Seahawks D/ST D/ST
K David Akers, Det K
Bench T.Y. Hilton, Ind WR
Bench Ronnie Hillman, Den RB
Bench Jay Cutler, Chi QB
Bench Bilal Powell, NYJ RB
Bench Jermaine Gresham, Cin TE
Bench Mohamed Sanu, Cin WR

Thoughts?

Looks better than my team, and I'm in a 10 team league.

I would trade Bowe for another WR. A lot of clowns are high on Bowe this year. I'm not. Smith is not a good QB. Chiefs want to run the ball all the time. They still have nothing on the WR core and teams aren't going to let Bowe beat them. IMO, the guy was close to washed up last year. Somebody out there will take him. Bowe's 2 best years came with long deep balls that he managed to make plays on. Not nearly as easy to do that when you are 29. Not to mention he has a QB that throws a terrible deep ball in Smith. IMO, you would be much better off trading him as a 2 for 2 deal. Get back a receiver like Givens or Boldin and then swap QB's and upgrade there.

Another option, trade Foster and Dalton and for a another RB and QB. I'm not high on Foster. To me, he's at the point where he will drop off the cliff. He's YPC has dropped from 4.9, 4.5 and 4.1. When you get to below 4 YPC, you either stink or your OL does. Either way, you aren't good anymore as a RB. Again, I'd rather roll the dice on Richardson and upgrade my QB big time than risk having Foster go to a 3.8 YPC average and miss games because he's had such a work load the past 3 years. QB's are always undervalued in fantasy. When you have a QB that puts up 30+ fantasy points 60+% of the time, it's huge. A RB might do that twice a year.

Thanks for the tip. I'll see if there are any takers for Bowe

I'm not sure why so many people are so high on Bowe based off of one big time year. Edwards had the same thing and then never came close to doing it again.

I got Bowe with the 66th pick (10th pick in the 5th round) and I had seen him ranked anywhere between 37 and 53, so I thought it was a value pick for the spot... in hind sight, I probably could have drafted Steve Smith, but he was ranked much lower (anywhere between 49 and 76), Antonio Brown (anywhere between 47 and 63), Anquan Boldin (between 75 and 109), DeSean Jackson (between 63 and 85), Pierre Gaarcon (between 41 and 73), Greg Jennings (between 72 and 99) etc. Essentially, no one was ranked as good as Bowe, so I went with him... took a gamble...

how many teams in your league? That looks like a pretty good team

It is obvious nobody in that league other than you knows how to draft because there is no way you should get Foster, Brees and Jones in a 12 team league. Despite the fact I'm not high on Foster, he still should have gone in the beginning of the second round. Jones and Brees late first, early second as well.

Jones?? did I miss something? I don't see a Jones listed on his team...

It's amazing how many people don't have a clue how to draft.
