Admittedly, I don't follow the workings of the Rangers organization beyond knowing that Drury is the Pres/GM, but what indication is there that Glen Sather is still involved in any of the front office decision making? My understanding is its been years since he had any involvement with the Rangers.

When Drury was promoted, it was written in a few places Sather was involved in the decision. Is/was it true, don't know, but what I do know is for years Sather was a devil on Dolan's shoulder, hopefully for all Ranger fans sake that is no longer the case. With that said, and I'm a broken record on this, but Dolan will not fire Drury, so it is what it is (I'm saying that to myself as much as I am anyone else).

One thing I will add is that Dolan saying he fully supports Drury is no surprise. He was being interviewed on the radio and (I can only presume as I didn't listen) was asked if he supports his current GM. That he said he fully supports him and explained why is exactly what you would expect any owner to say, even if it was not the truth. It would've been newsworthy if he instead said something like the guy has not met expectations and we are evaluating him for how he fits into the future of the Rangers.
