Andrew Bynum has been suspended indefinitely

Now, perhaps if David Kahn had been the Cavs GM the whole contract would have been guaranteed (ala Brandon Roy).

I thought the Wolves held a team option on the second year of Roy's contract, and didn't exercise it.

Initial reports were that both years were fully guaranteed, but I remember reading later that the second year wasn't fully guaranteed. In the end, I suspect Roy either retired or worked out a buyout with Minnesota. In any case, whatever money he's getting this year is not counting against their cap.

Motivation has always been a big concern for Bynum, and it's why hey fell to the Lakers in the 2005 draft. He was fat and lazy in high school. I'm surprised the Lakers got as much out of him as they did. I thought he'd go back to being fat, lazy, unmotivated Andrew as soon as he got the big guaranteed contract. At least they got enough out of him to help them win two championships.

So if some fans had their way, we would currently have Steve Nash and Andrew Bynum on our salary cap

Remember when Oden vs Bynum was to be the goliath center battle of the future, times change.

Yeah I forgot about that. Sheesh both guys care more about drinking than basketball. I can't blame them too much, if someone wanted to pay me millions for playing a sport I didn't care about I'd gladly give a half ass attempt at it.

I bet they trade him to the Nets. Gilbert will do anything he can to prevent him from signing in Miami. The Clippers don't have any contracts to match in a trade. The Nets are so desperate this just seems like a move they are destined to make.

Is he suspende without pay? If so, and he doesn 't want to play, why doesn't he just retire? His lack of desire to play is going to cost him over $20 million, but only $6 million of that was guaranteed, and he's already been paid about $4 million for this season already. So, he'd only be walking away from about $2 million of guaranteed money. No way Cleveland doesn't waive him (or trade him to another team who will then waive him).

He is suspended with pay. The team can't take his salary away for a crappy attitude, the union would fight it. Bynum is working the system beautifully!

Oh man.

LOL. I remember some other Blazer fans on other boards saying it's a win-win to get Bynum.

I don't know anyone saying it was a win/win. I thought it was a high risk high reward move that could be better than blowing our cap on Splitter or some other mediocre overpaid role player. Didn't think NeO would be able to get the pickups he did in the summer, I'm super glad he did!

The second year of Roy's contract was non-guaranteed.

For the first title he was injured and didn't have any role. He was critical in the second title though.

If you woke up to THIS everyday, would you be motivated?

That building in the lower right hand corner is now a kickass bar.

That's why I said "other boards". There were some that said we were stupid for not picking up Bynum.

And Aldridge would be traded for parts . . . and Batum would be in Minny because Blazers didn't match . . . and Blazers would be rebuilding.

A friend has believed for a while that Bynum doesn't get along with others in part because he is a closeted homosexual and he feels divided from any team he is on. I've asked why and only reason I get is "gaydar" going off (my friend is gay).

Not sure if this is more validation or vindication, but I got tired of arguing with people who suggested Portland sign him, even though I couldn't stand his attitude and knew he would kill any hope for any semblance of the current chemistry we are enjoying. Information cures most ailments. Get well soon Bynum bandwagoniers.

Is he the Kingspeed tryst?

Anyway fuck it if he's cheap go for it if he's cool with the second unit

I heard he hasn't even practiced with the Pacers yet. I advocated signing this guy twice now, i feel like a fool.

To be fair, Indy signed him to keep him away from other clubs (especially Miami), not to play him.
