Makes no sense. Rangers don't have anywhere close to the cap room to sign him. Hawks have no cap room. So, unless somehow Gorton has convinced Staal to move and found a team to take him, they aren't going to be adding anybody.

Yeah I'm not sure how they would make that work, unless dealing Holden and pick/prospect opened just enough space. They'll have about 3m after Zib. Would be a nice addition though.

Some people are trying to drum up a Duchene/Skjei centered deal which i wouldn't do i don't think. Salary wouldn't work really unless you sent Zucc or someone also.

Just a bunch of rumors from multiple sources. Involving Holden but they would need to shed cap space somehow.

I really hope Zib and Hayes aren't are top 2 Centers. Hayes is a good 3 not 2.

In hindsight they had no choice but to buy out G, trade Stepan, and welcome Klein's retirement or else they would have had no cap space. It went from "wow this team is going to have enough to add a center" to "they have 500k in cap space"
