Ankle Woes Bench Yi, Dooling But Camp Opens on Optimistic Note

September 26, 2008, 1:56 pm The Nets opened their training camp Friday with Media Day…and news of the first injuries of the new season. Yi Jianlian and Keyon Dooling will be out for seven to 10 days with “slight” ankle sprains. That schedule should permit them to play in Europe next month. But the big news was the confidence level exuded by the team. As Devin Harris stated, “We know what we’re capable of doing.”

I really can't wait to see what Yi has. His incredible combination of height, skills, and athleticism should make him a monster, but his first season didn't reflect that.
Was that just a product of playing with Mo and Redd? Obviously, having Carter and Harris will do him some good, but how much?
