I like it. It looks super clean. The member info/post count/join date, etc. look better than on this site. Aesthetically, I like it more than this. Which is saying a lot, because I like this sites layout a lot.

i use xenforo on a forum i run and it's vastly better than VB in a lot of ways - the social login is handy too.

So long as the 2 computer skills I have are not affected..(reading and typing) ..I'm all for it. I think it's great that you keep members posted. Personally I think the forum could use a boost in membership. Now the important question would be is it hack proof from certain northern asiatic places that don't like our movies?

Surely, even the North Koreans have nothing against the Blazers. Heck we even had Ha Seung-Jin - who is kind of sort of from their neck of the woods.

There are lots of addons for this new forum software so if there is something that you would like that we don't have now please feel free to ask for it.

If it doesn't exist Denny can probably write it.

Any software we'd use, including the current software, is likely hackable. Banks and large corporations with teams of security experts are breached frequently enough.

That said, I am very security conscious, and (knock on wood) we've not been hacked or defaced yet. It's probably that we're running under the radar.

I do have a plan to radically improve our security if we move. Not going to spill it yet.

Some sites I really want to post on require facebook ect log in to post and I refuse to make one. 1) many jobs highly discourage or demand you do not have these pages for your own security. 2) I hate these corporations for their clickbait and data mining and refuse to support them. As long as I can log I here with same user name p/w cool.

Social login is NOT required, it's just an added way to sign up and get posting quick and easy.

I'm thinking over the New Year weekend. Hopefully the site will only be down for a couple hours. Potentially a day though. The test import I did took less than 24, but I don't know exactly how long because it finished while I was sleeping.

If we first delete some unnecessary forums that no one really cares about that will make the import a lot faster. Oh wait, I can do that. BRB, I'm going to delete that Chicago Bulls forum, we don't have any fans of that team around here.

No, it's not the same software. The avatar sizes are a tweak I can easily make.

It does matter, but those are nits, not show stoppers.

No. Just new posters have the option to use their existing social media credentials instead of creating dedicated ones just for this site. It should be more inviting to people who find the site by searching google, etc.
