We were up against the Sounders, Timbers, Seahawks, Mariners and a couple other broadcasting teams. Good friends of mine with the Knicks lost out I think to the Islanders. It’s the same situation all over the country.
I’ve been on Emmy Award winning broadcasts on a National level like HBO Boxing, US Open for the Golf Channel and Olympics etc........ but in those National/Global situations, not everybody on the crew gets a trophy or even recognized. Maybe the bigwig executives who aren’t even in the studio or just the director or producer get em. When you win, you have to buy the trophy, few hundred dollars I believe. Luckily the boss pays for these for us, he understands what it takes to get one of these. Thats why I’m actually more proud of these regional ones than I am the National ones. It’s the day in day out grind of close to 100 games and being acknowledged for it like this. In my industry, doesn’t get any bigger. Just thought I’d share.
