And then we have 42 year old Ichiro Suzuki who jumped in there for a younger player, had four hits helping Donnie Baseballs Marlins come from behind to beat the Rays.
The guy was harmless with the bat in his last season with the Yanks.
Couldn't break a window.
We all want to see the kids get a chance- but with Bird out for the season we're actually talking about Judge, Sanchez(?) and Refsnyder and Severino. Yes? No?
Gregorius and Castro aren't exactly senior citizens and they certainly haven't embarrassed themselves.
Ellsbury isn't going anywhere unless the DL.
I could be wrong but, I think Gardy has run his course- he's evolved into a very mediocre player.
He could or should've been moved in a trade or if Hicks becomes a pleasant surprise.
Headley has become a glaring weakness - at least Arod and Tex DID produce last year and gave the Yanks reason to believe they could provide some more this year.
This obviously is looking like a terrible signing by Cashman - to be honest, I thought he would be a good player for the Yanks and would flourish at bit more playing at Yankee Stadium.....no doubt we can take issue with the money or length of the contract but I certainly didn't expect him to forget how to play 3rd base last year, and forget how to hit this year.
Yanks are hurt alot by not getting anything from their 3rd baseman. He is the glaring weak link....not yet an old player and being a regular. Ouch! If he continues to stink up the place, Yanks should not go any further with him.....use Torreyes or someone else....Headley doesn't get the benefit of the doubt.
Yanks chose to deal Prado (and go with Headley) with the chance of getting a young power arm in Eovaldi who they think can turn the corner.....
This is the year he BETTER begin to show improvement ....we shall see.
We know about the bad contracts to the older players.
It's those "little moves"which may be more harmful before the dust settles this year.
This should be Cashman's ass if this team slides backwards this year.
No more bullshit! lol
