By sitting on your collective asses and thinking this team was so good it needed no improvements. The New York Mets of all teams made moves, are starting to run away in the NL East and are now the talk of the City.

...lol...wish I'd said that ! :devilwink:

...there's a lot of angst and frustration amongst Yanx fans right now, ...and understandably so.

With Kelly friggin Johnson leading the way.

Even though I am pi@@ed at the Yankee Brass I also say fuck the damn Mets, National League bozos, I could care less what they do or do not accomplish.

Talk about having your hopes crushed. a 7 game lead gone in 2 short weeks.

I think this team exceeded expectations but standing pat by the Brass was a huge disappointment, it sucks to see that lead go but no Yankees collapse will ever equal '04.

why isn't girardi added to thread, imo, he's more to blame then anyone! he played the game , and he absolutely knew what this team needed b4 deadline, and not a peep!

Might be one of the most idiotic things I've ever read. Ned Yost played the game also. Do you think he needed to go run and tell his GM that perhaps Johnny Cueto would bolster their chances? John Gibbons was a player. Did he need to tell his GM that Tulo might bolster an already powerful lineup and Price would help the staff?

LOL....
And one small hot streak by the Yanks puts them back in charge and 1st place unless Toronto has a 16 game win streak.

Oh, the weak of heart.
Get the hell out of my foxhole....lol

Yes, '04 collapse was worse. I had no expectations for this team.
In Spring training, you remember, most thought there
were too many question marks. This team is old. This team
is very streaky. This team has no leadership; the older
players on this team have a tough time handling their
own lapses.......God forbid, somebody else's.
I can't get too excited about this team. I just know that
new blood needs to added to this roster.
Tired of: Ellsbury's injuries, Gardner's bad base running
habits, A-roid & Bump's slumps, Beltran's injuries and not
to mention the need to keep 'deadwood' players. It gets
to be tiresome & makes for boring baseball to watch these
players continually falling into these repetitive lapses.

Yep, we know you had low expectations....meanwhile Yanks could be in 1st place by Monday August 17.....I said COULD BE.....that's 4 days from if your counting..this a baseball season. Leads can change almost daily for weeks at a time. Is this amatuer hour, where did this guy come from?

Not from whatever rock you decided to crawl out from under after the last two disgraceful evenings.

...lol...lemme guess, the silver lining guy?...appear, disappear, appear, disappear.

Do you have a problem that you need to come here acting like a complete asshole?

I don't hide or cop out.
Everyone has a good idea of I how feel towards expectations of this team and "the plan".
What the heck did you expect me to say regarding these last two losses in Cleve?
Would it matter? lol

Miller "chose" the wrong time to blow a save and CC pitched ANOTHER good game this month. That's baseball! And as I've already said in this thread, the Yanks COULD be back in first place Monday. Bird has been called up....Severino IS here..."the plan" is on schedule. It is what it is....I'm not the typical crybaby hand wringer as the general population of this "board" is.

Running here to insult caged for no reason was uncalled for. That's why it was deleted. If you can't control yourself stay gone.

You do not have one critical thought about these Yankees. But you sure
know how to knock those who do not agree with your
silver lining bullshit. You are a superficial Yankee follower.
Please you know nothing about being a fan and also being critical of
your team. Positive is good, but don't ignore the shortcomings
of this team. And don't become defensive by calling out us
fans because we don't like certain things and/or players in this
organization. I do not see this team as one that does everything right.
Sports doesn't work like that.

And you my friend probably cannot comprehend how Yankee fans are
critical of the team. Watch and learn.

And if you are going to quote me, get it right....or just stop with
your nonsense. Just stick to the OP.

It's all conditional( could, should, would) with you, and nothing
is actual........you know, something based on facts.

I really don't understand why you were attacked. I asked what was going on and was answered with bullshit so I just deleted the posts.

Vic you should know by now that he doesn't need a reason. Whatever helps get the attention.

Even more idiotic then your ellsbury is killing this team? Mess please , get a fukin clue about the game, if not for ellsbury team would have been in cellar months ago....

How the hell do you not have expectations for a team with this payroll? Whatever !!! keep singling out 2 of only a few posters on here who have a clue, makes lot of sense!

Pasta I know more about the Yankees and this game of baseball than you will ever know. Do yourself a favor and stop playing that ridiculous card because you have shown time and time again to be clueless.

From May 20th to July 7th Ellsbury did not play

From July 8th - July 31st Ellsbury hit .215 17 for 79

From August 1st - August 12 Ellsbury hit .105 4 for 38

So out of the leadoff spot that's over a month of .179 21 for 117

And for good measure prior to his May injury was riding an 0 for 10

Nope not killing the team at all.

...yup, it's Girardi's fault that Ellsbury was so poor at the plate for so long...unbelievable.

I think you guys are being a little hard on Pasta, after all he played the game & you didn't. :rolleyes3:

...yeah, he played ball...he was "All Neighborhood" in T-Ball.

...and this just in; Girardi was also seen on the "grassy knoll" on 11/22/63.

When posts are ridiculous they tend to get pointed out. You can certainly feel free to defend your points but frankly that very rarely happens without a diatribe about how none of us played the game and are all idiots.

I can't believe "we're" still going through this rigamarole.
You kinda proved you either haven't read my various posts FROM THE BEGINNING of the season or chose to not remember.

I don't recall saying the Yanks do everything "right" and have very recently commented (once again) on the Yanks' situation approaching this recent road trip and their up coming 10 game home stand.

Maybe we should just agree that I have so far found less reasons to bash the Yanks' overral team performance through the season as some others.
Does that sound fair?

I never said this team was going to be some kind of juggernaut .
Yes- "competitive" for the division, Yes- win more games than generally expected by most.

Toronto has gone 14-1 since the Tulowitski acquisition and have presently won 11 straight.....they have currently overtaken the Yanks for first place by a half game with help of a 5 game Yankee losing streak this past week.
Sh!t happens! What can you do? Scream and stamp your feet?

If Toronto keeps winning at this pace it won't really matter what the Yanks should have done at the trade deadline- unless you wanted them to get Tulo? Okay fine.
In the meantime as I write this, the Yanks need 2/3 in Toronto to regain 1st place with several weeks left in the season.

Your self importance is just off the charts. How you think that everything that is spoken about here is somehow about you is beyond me. Not to mention the ridiculous offense you take to anyone being critical of this team or management. Again, you somehow take it as being directed at you or some comment you made in April that nobody remembers. It would be more productive if you posted in the now and stopped with your constant what I said months ago nonsense. Plus, you went and attacked caged for his comments that weren't even directed at you. It just made no sense.
