Another year of MIXUM

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

with all the so called "smart people" here who hate my posts....

why do they keep reading and responding? why cant i post my opinion and they ignore me? its really that simple.

Because the Blazer board is a public forum, not a blog.

At the top of your screen there are these things called buttons, and one of them says 'blogs', if you click it there's another button that says 'create new post', if you click that one then you can post your opinion without others needing to reply.

This is ridiculous

nah, I needed an ego boost

Yeah, I imagine that's what all the retards in the influx are thinking, too. They needed an ego boost.

I'm not saying you're one of them. Of course not, that would be uncalled-for. Just funny that they're probably thinking the same thing. No one considers themselves the retard, amirite? :)

This is obviously my world and you are all my pawns...what do you not understand? I thought it was clearly obvious

He said he wanted to post his thoughts without certain people having to read/respond, if he used the readily available board tools he could do so.

Start a blog, send PMs to the people he wants to read his writings, and carry on discussions with them in the comments section of each blog posting.

That seems to be exactly what he just asked for.

I'll just let you read again what he posted...this time notice the part where he singles out a group of posters in quotations

Exactly, and he could eliminate them by doing as I've suggested.

He's posted here for a few years now and continues to get the same response, expecting that to change is the very definition of insane.

If your actually looking for a solution it's far more reasonable/likely for 1 poster (Mixum) to change his habits, than to expect an entire group of people to change theirs.

Well said.

What I really don't get is that if you don't like a certain poster's posts, don't open the threads the person starts. If nobody responds to a person's posts, they'd likely get bored of talking to themselves and move on. To make matters worse, posting a response to a guy you want to ignore only eggs him on, so what's the point in doing that?

What I really don't get is why there are mods on the board yet, they let the obvious trolling take place. Why have mods at all?

I get that people shouldn't respond to a troll, but it is also against the forum "rules" to troll. Then, you want to turn it into the other posters' responsibility to remove a troll instead of just doing your own job on your own board. Nice work.

Just because you disagree doesnt make it trolling

Speak for yourself...I'll spell it out for you...He was talking about the posters who think a great injustice has been done by letting him post. I for one enjoy having discourse with him. Just because some people get emotionally unstable while reading his post does not mean I shouldnt be entitled to talk to him on a freakin SPORTS FORUM

Just because you disagree doesnt make it trolling

Right...

In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into a desired emotional response[1] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion

That definition exactly matches MIXUM's posts.

I for one enjoy having discourse with him.
Then get his email address or IM screen name and you two can have some amazing "discourse".

Just because some people get emotionally unstable while reading his post does not mean I shouldnt be entitled to talk to him on a freakin SPORTS FORUM

I don't see many posters other than MIXUM who are getting emotionally unstable.

Right...

That definition exactly matches MIXUM's posts.

I disagree...

inflammatory- just because he thinks somebody in the blazer organization sucks or is having an issue and you disagree doesnt make it inflammatory. He has no control over your reaction....YOU perceive it as inflammatory

extraneous- he has always givin on point reasons on why he believes what he believes. Just because he interprets the information with a more stern eye than yours doesnt make him wrong. Maybe your the one thats wrong for being too lenient?

Off-topic- all Mixum talks about is bball, I think everyone can agree on that

...so yeah...I disagree

Really? So when he gets insulted by 20 different posters in one thread thats mixum being unstable?

I do think he gets overly emotional about people not agreeing with him. I.E. the when Oden gets a pass thread. He was answered by several different posters, but kept posting that no answers were given, and keeps pushing it. I dont view Mixum as a troll, but more as the extremely pushy/annoying political activist who stands outside the mall making sure people are registered to vote.

I don't think we have rules posted here anymore, and frankly, I prefer to have as few as possible. There never was a rule against trolling - trash talk is a big thing in sports, after all. The TWO in SportsTwo is as in Web 2.0, or it's about you posters, not the staff.

The entire site needs a lot of moderating that has nothing to do with mods being confrontational with posters.

We have a moderating stats page (for staff only), and our top 10 moderators (actually doing mod things) are:
1) huevonkiller
2) truebluefan
3) speeds
4) Minstrel
5) Me
6) Ronan
7) Ed O
8) Barfo
9) Sir Psycho Sexy
10) Vinyard

17,583 total "Moderating Actions" (things that mods do with their extra controls the software gives them).

I know you're having a great time seeking attention playing "devil's advocate" right now, but I'll play along...
I disagree...

Take a look at his last topic title. "read em and weep". Yep, no intent to be inflammatory there.

extraneous- he has always givin on point reasons on why he believes what he believes. Just because he interprets the information with a more stern eye than yours doesnt make him wrong. Maybe your the one thats wrong for being too lenient?

You must not be referring to how he posts some gibberish in all caps, and then very rarely responds to peoples' direct questions. If you can find meaning and reasoning in his posts, you might want to seek help, since you might have similar thought (or lack of) processes.

Off-topic- all Mixum talks about is bball, I think everyone can agree on that

...so yeah...I disagree

Yeah, and I disagree that you can read correctly. It doesn't need to be ALL of the above.

Didn't a Bulls poster, who acted a lot like Mixum, once get banned for acting a lot like Mixum?

He got unbanned real quick, with a public apology, and it was a huge mistake we don't want to repeat.

JE? I miss him.
