Anthony Randolph?

It could mean that he has attiude problems and a poor work ethic. (Both of which could be corrected as some have suggested in the right environment). I don't think he will help much this year, but he may be a good investment. But a strong work ethic is a huge factor. The ones who continue to get better make it and the ones who don't......don't.

a good worth ethic can be huge, apparently Blake Grifin's work ethic was a big contributor to the changes for DeAndre Jordan of Clips

You guys understand that Mike asks the players if he can mention their loved ones on the air right? Some players say sure, while others shy away from it. It is a professional courtesy to the players. I am pretty sure I have heard Brandon Jr. more than most as well. I think some of you dislike Mike a lot, but to call the guy racist when you don't actually listen to him commentate due to the fact that you are watching ESPN is both cowardly and ignorant. Sometimes the mods need to be moderated.

I never said anything about Barret talking about the players' wife and kids, I'm talking about the way he pumps up the whiteys on the team to be somehow brimming with untapped potential or their indispensability. All we ever heard about Steve Blake was what a perfect point guard he was, and now it's about what a great talent in practice Babbitt is.

An explosive leaper like Anthony Randolph only having 4 dunks so far this year concerns me, even if he's only played in 14 games.

Is his ankle problem turning into a chronic injury?

number of games is kind of meaningless; he's played a total of 110 minutes.

my take on randolph is...

he must suck if he cant play on the knicks uptempo type style team

Haven't kept track of him since he got moved but it was a problem a few times in GS. Is it still holding him back now? He was fairly injury prone here but its to be expected for such a high flyer.

And as far as his work ethic, that's another area that confused me about him and further supports the idea that he may be bipolar or something. After his up and down rookie season where he demanded a trade, changed agents, eventually he turned out fairly happy in GS it seemed and he and Nelly seemed to come to an understanding. He said after the season he went home to Dallas or wherever for like a week but then watching the playoffs got him pissed/hungry/obsessed so he came right back to GS a week or two after the end of the season and he and Anthony Morrow were in the gym every day working the whole summer. For a while it did appear that he and Morrow were easily the two highest work ethic guys on the team but into the following season Nellie began having problems with him again saying hes not doing what hes got to do. Is that work ethic? Is it a lack of focus or mental adjustments? Its hard to say. Nellie was definitely frustrated that he could go out and grab 12 boards in 26 minutes one night and the next he thinks hes Kobe and doesn't want to play down low.

A quick google search reminds me of this incident:
"We're going to put him on ice for a while, until the assistant coaches tell me he's ready to play in an NBA game and my captains tell me he's ready. He's just going to have to grow up," Nelson said to Janny Hu of the San Francisco Chronicle

The dude definitely has an attitude. This quote was actually from a few days after he elbowed Rob Kurz, an undrafted free agent PF who was getting playing time over AR, in the face in practice which required stitches. And yeah you may be able to tell from the previous highlight vids but the guy has crazy mood swings in games. Those dunks on the Rockets were from when he was an 18 y/o rookie and after every one he would mean mug Yao and Motumbo like a moron. Also in his rookie year he made some kind of play and showed up KG and when KG tried to pull his fake tough guy routine AR got right in his face. Its good to know hes confident but also a little much for a guy that young and unproven to be mad dogging all these established NBA guys.

And for all this tough guy, intense machismo he also looked like he was about to cry half the time when Nellie benched him. He was a bit of an oddball. Still don't know what exactly the problem was.

Thanks Run BJM, that helps. I say get him, then put Camby and Buck in his head and Bayno on his back and see what happens. Success is full of risks.
