OT Any advice on what to do in London?

So I'm in London right now with my wife for our super delayed honeymoon. We have the London pass and there's a million things that we can see or do. We can't see it all.

Anyone have any particular recommendations for places to visit or restaurants to eat at?

The first day that we got here we did the most American thing we could think of and went to the Titans/Chargers game at Wembley. It was a spur of the moment decision. We had booked the trip months ago and I forgot Marcus Mariota and the Titans were going to be in London. We ended up getting an amazing deal on the day of the game. 12th row behind the endzone for $32 a piece. Still not sure how we got that. I was positive the tickets were fake and we would be turned away at the door.

But now we need to fill up the rest of our week. We head to Paris next Monday, so if anyone has any recommendations for Paris that would also be much appreciated.

Eat lots of chicken tikka masala. Fish and Chips. Pie Shop. Drink a pint outside. Halal food is great there, for obvious reasons. :MARIS61: Stay away from anything asian or asian fusion (Chinese food in Soho..their chinatown area was horrible).

Buy an expensive umbrella or at least a gentleman's hat.

Harrods is nice, but I preferred Selfridges (other than Harrod's food hall).

I enjoyed the Tate Modern but its not for everyone. Its right at the Millenium bridge and I'd advise walking down that.

Ride on the top of a double decker bus.

Buy a Free Assange shirt. I believe the consulate is near Harrods and there are usually some pro-assange fellows.

Go to Jermyn street and buy a button up shirt. Something flashy.

Waterstone's in Picadilly is a huge bookstore you should check out.

London is a great city to just wander around. Love the old school vibe and culture. Not into the Royal Family bullshit whatsoever, personally.

Oh yeah, they have all kinds of delicious cadbury chocolates that you can't really get in the US. Toblerone too.

Tower of London is a must. Also, a show on the west end for sure, and Chinese food next door in China Town. Churchill's Bunker near Parliament is really cool.

In Paris, go to Ille St. Louis behind Notre Dame (and Notre Dame too) and stroll. Also, go to Angelinas Cafe next to the Louvre and get the hot chocolate. For real. The Monet Water Lilly room is incredible. Take a batubus down the Seine.

Book dinner at the eiffle tower. It's a little spendy but not to bad. Food was great and totally worth the experience. You wife will die for it, guaranteed

Also our favorite Paris attraction were the Catacombs. It was really cool and super creepy. The Ille de St Louis that Stevenson mentioned is fantastic also. We actually stayed in a boutique hotel there, love it. Also you can't miss wine and cheese picnic on the Seine, weather might not be good for it now so a river cruise will also do the trick.

Go to the Museum of Natural History. Very interesting. Hit up a theatre production. Go see a Chelsea or Arsenal match. Check out Trafalgar Square. London’s great.

If you have a few day, a trip accross Southern England, Winchester, Salisbury Plain, Bath is sort of cool. Then a run up to liverpool, and over York and back to London will give yeah a feel for old England.

If you are there in 2 weeks - Nov. 4 is the London to Brighton run - it is a very interesting event.

Big Ben, Ten Downing street, Westminister Abbey, Stone Henge, fish and chips, warm beer. Nuff said? Nearly forgot, Savile Row men's suits, the best in the world. Savile Row is a street in Mayfair, central London. It's where James Bond bought his suits in the books.

Big Ben is covered in scaffolding right now. It really sucks. Apparently they started working on it in 2017 and it won't be done until 2021. It's a buzz kill but there's a bunch of other stuff to see.

Wife and i are thinking about doing something similar the summer after next.

Only advice i can give is do as much as you can and as much video as possible. Scratch that. With where we are headed as a society you might not have playback options in the future.

Take pictures. Lots of them. Lol

You will look back at them with rare, unique memories later on in life.
