Yangervis Solarte was a late scratch today, and Girardi explained why. “When he dove for the ball the other day, he was a little bit sore – maybe a little sorer than he led on,” he said. “I watched his BP today, and he just didn’t look quite the same swinging. I talked him and I had some of my coaches talk to him, and he said it wasn’t 100 percent, so I decided to scratch him, telling him that, ‘You get today off, you get Monday off, and maybe it’ll be back to 100 percent (on Tuesday).’ He had a test done, and the test came back good. There’s no damage to his shoulder, he just jammed it a little bit and we’ll have to get through it.”
