Anybody else miss Kenyon?

Sure the guy is injured and we were lucky to get rid of him, but I still miss him. He brought so much energy to Nets basketball, and really kept us fired up. There were many situations where we need a good defensive play, and so many times Martin delivered.

He ran the floor well, and in my opinion he was Kidd's best sidekick. Just a great player, and man do I wish things turned out differently.

Well those were the days. But that was way back then when we had a deeper bench then we have right now. Kittles was an excellent defender and three point shooter. Van Horn played as the perimeter big man, but he could still rebound unlike our current perimeter big men.

Byronn Scott was the head coach. IMO, he is way better than Lawrence Frank despite him leading us to a 14-0 record when we signed him. And the biggest of them all was that Jason Kidd was still in his prime. Kidd is still good, but he is far from the way he played in his prime.

The main reason that the KMart days were good was because we has good post play and defense.

We did not have a deeper bench than we have now. I think our bench is the deepest in 5 - 6 years. This team lacks motivation plain and simple.

Kenyon fired everyone up. He came in to the arena with a great deal of passion. The fans became louder, his teammates had fun, and the end result was the the Nets playing at a consistently high level.

I think that his current team has what is takes to be a better team than the Nets were with Martin. However, this team just doesn't have the motivation or any players that can spark a fire under everyone.

I loved it when he put up his arms to pump up the crowd. These days Continental Airlines Arena seems dead. They cheer more for the opposing team

Well, I would not be that pessimistic

. People only seem to get excited when Carter is about to dunk or dunks. With Kenyon, it was a full game (i.e. when Martian was on the floor) of the crowd being engaged.

Between Carter and Kenyon, Vince is the better player. But I think that is the key. Kenyon knew his role in the team. He knew who's team it was. Kenyon may not have a lot of offensive moves in his repertoire and often scored most of his points off Kidd's passes. But he let the game come to him. Plus he was a force on the defensive end. Carter is hands down the more skilled of the two, don't get me wrong. But Kenyon was the better fit for the Nets.

yeah i miss the guy too.
like all you guys say he brought energy and a perfect fit to that team.
its bitter-sweet in my eyes, but i sure didnt want him to go when he did.
