My test came back negative, but every doctor I have seen has been convinced I had it. At the time of my test the failure rate for false negatives was in the 40 percentile range too, so I am pretty sure I had it. I can tell you it’s not like any flu I have ever had, and it’s taken me almost a month to go through it and feel better.
Glad to hear you’re feeling better though. Hopefully thats behind you for good.

Glad you got through it. Hopefully, it doesn't come back

10 positives aNd two deaths at my mothers facility. Nothing on her wing though so that is good. Her 14 days of lockdown started over yesterday.
So technically my mother is free to leave. She doesnt want to and after going over it all i understand.
If she leaves, she cant go back until this os all over.
If she leaves and starts to show symptoms, she will be like everyone else. If she stays and shows symptoms she will be tested and treated asap. Hard decision yesterday. But we left her there.

Great news......considering.

I may have had this in December. Sickest I've been in years. Fever, aches, lungs. Still have tightness in my chest. Doctor said I had atypical pneumonia (walking)

Someone at work (25) was sick for a month

Another person (50ish) was hospitalized with pneumonia and had surgery because of it

That's crazy man. Was there anything during the whole ordeal that lessened the suffering?
I read a post by a scientist who has been working with various types of coronavirus for years. She felt that zinc would help. I personally feel like zinc has knocked down every virus that has attacked me in the last twenty years. Best and cheapest is a Bi-mart housebrand called Zinc+lozenges.

you are def high risk Nd need to be careful but you aren't in a locked down building with positive people.
I would think they would want to test everyone in the building asap Nd move those who Come back negative out of the building so they wont catch it.

i was stunned when she said four days later she still hasn't been tested.

There are now six positives in the building.
Im starting to freak out a bit over here.
I'm in a room with a locked door and about 20 or 30 people for several hours three days a week. We even have two isolation rooms that are walled on three sides and have a curtain on the other side. The rest of us are side by side getting the same procedure. There is some overlap when the second shift of patients begin their treatment. This means that I'm exposed to maybe 30 people every treatment day. One guy has a terrible cough, one of the worst I've ever heard.

Surgery? What caused that? Did they cut out his lung? That seems a little drastic.

Perhaps pornography could take his mind off the affliction. Anyone willing to test that hypothesis?

I maybe take a sickday every couple years and when I do it’s because insomnia and sleep issues get bad enough it makes me ill. Today is like that slept maybe an hour or so over the weekend, last night got my stomach to a point where I uhh had a rough night... So I emailed my boss I wasnt coming into work today and had my boss and HR start asking me a ton of questions via email. Im like 99% sure I dont have to answer, I only have one symptom that correlates to COVID-19 though. Im hoping they dont make me stay home.

Tell them you had issues with your anus, get some pictures off the web and send them to HR.

I requested multiple times to be retested for Covid-19 but was denied on each request stating "there aren't enough kits". Along the way, every single nurse, and every doctor all openly admitted they believed I have Covid-19 including my GP, but I still couldn't get retested because the CDC is the one that makes the call on who gets tested.

Interesting. I had a somewhat similar experience. Had all the symptoms and waited until my temp hit 102 before going to the ER.
They told me I had it. I said, "but you haven't tested me"? The ER physician said why test you? The results could come back negative and I still wouldn't believe it...at this point in time, everyone with your symptoms (including a 102 temperature) has it....why waste the test kit? He gave me a prescription for my cough and respiratory issues and told me to self-quarantine myself.

He did x-ray my chest though to make sure I did not have pneumonia, (Luckily I didn't) but he did not want to waste a test kit...which makes sense, either way, I was going to quarantine myself. He said 80% of the people who get it, are fine in a week or two. I am at day 4. If I don't post again.......I was part of the other 20%

Strange reaction. Why test anybody then?

I hope you're an 80%er.

Not exactly sure. My guess is until we have a surplus of test kits, they want to save as many as possible for those who are more questionable, as opposed to those who they feel are so sick they should be quarantined regardless. It's not like they have medication yet that will help.

well, its times like these the distance i have living in New Zealand is a massive bonus.

we shut down everything about a week ago, borders, gatherings, strict lockdown etc and are currently maybe 5 days behind in testing results.
as a primary produce nation i think we're actually pretty good as far as preparedness, we only have 5m people, a good amount of land and our PM isn't a screwup so thats another bonus

currently here, we have 48 new cases today (plus another 10 probable) , down from 70 something yesterday - total count is around 650.

14 are in hospital, 2 are in ICU but stable, we've had 1 death, and 74 confirmed recoveries.

hopefully, being an island and closing our borders a week back is responsible for the slight downwards trend emerging now.

i think we'll likely keep our borders very restricted for the next 12 months. TBH im in favor of having a little more isolation reliance, we are a small but great nation and can definitely support ourselves and our people/businesses more.

shout outs to anyone in essential services that are still working and keeping us all safe.

plus a big ole fuck you to the idiots ignoring the threat and needlessly risking lives
