Anyone concerned over the close games?

I am not discouraged by the close games. I am encouraged by them. Because most of the time, we are winning them. That's a good thing.

but my point is..... every win has been close lately or since philly.
So now it's not enough to have the best record in the league. We have to blow every team out. Even the other top teams in the league. You have high standards, my friend.

I don't know if concerned is the correct word. More like, I feel sorry for someone that requires so much attention even when it's all negative.

We are getting everyone's best games and beating them, regardless of it being close or not, is great.

It is a concern. But these "playoff style" close games will only help us come post season.

"I'm concerned about their experience..." oh, never mind. Scratch another excuse for why Portland isn't the best off the list.

Seems like all of the recent ones have been close. And the Blazers wouldn't have it any other way. But after losing to Golden State don't think Doc Rivers and the Clippers weren't trying to win that one. They took a big jab at the Blazers but in the end they were left standing. I think it's another sign.

The upcoming schedule scares me. Little less so with Westbrook being out. I think they need to aim to go .500 in this stretch. They are road games and they are versus teams who will be looking to make statement.

Sounds like the Blazers are throwin' games because they ain't coverin' the point spread. It's clear that organized crime has their hooks in the team.

By far, this is your greatest and most believable conspiracy theory. I am a believer.

Who do you think is behind it? Mafia? Russian mod? Northside family?

It's no coincidence that there is a large Russian/Ukrainian contingency in the greater Portland area. It's the perfect storm with all the Hispanics having already migrated up here. Cartel + Mafia = influence. Boston's bookies have nothing on Portland.

Well technically we haven't been to the playoffs. The game changes in the post season. Games that are close usually are the norm. So for a team that has had players with minimal playoff experience, it's nice having these types of wins.

Call me crazy

Crazy.

Mo. LA. Batum. Matthews. Wright.

This. Repped.

Blazers jut played a game where Griffin and Paul (clippers all stars) each brought their best, posting big numbers and looking like all stars. Meanwhile one of the Blazers all stars brought his best game but the other (Lillard) has an off game and scores less than half of what he was averaging the week before . . . . . . . . . . . . . and the Blazers still won.

Well shit what's to worry about then? We should just blow every team out of the water because we won't need any clutch experience then.

Is clutch really a concern with this Blazer team? You realize they allow less than 80 pts per 100 possessions in the final 3 minutes of games ya? And we don't need to get into the offensive side of clutch with LMA, Batum, Matthews, and Dame. ;)

Um yes. I would like as much practice as I could get with winning clutch games. 1,000 in a row being wins is better than 10 in a row.

You're killin me Smalls.

I'm just not understanding your angle? Are you saying we are so clutch and good that we don't need to play close games? That no matter what, this team is ready to win in the post season because Aldridge, Matthews and batum have first round and out playoff experience?

I would really like to know what you believe because I have no idea what you want me to say!

I'm saying this team has several players with play-off experience. It's being talked about as if they have zero experience.

Did you miss the part where I said "minimal experience"? That's true. Wright has gone the farthest and he isn't the focal part of our offense. The true players to look at are our starting 5.

Didn't mo go to the finals with LeBron? Or am I misremembering?

And he lost in the finals.

He could be part of the point shaving scandal. He probably did it in Cleveland and now he is doing it here too.

That's why the Blazers are having so many close games. Mo is clearly working with organized crime and throwing them just enough to not cover the point spread.

Damn, I'm like a detective or something.

Indiana has zero Finals experience. But it seems we are going back and forth about degree, with wasn't really my point. :( It's ok. I'm just not concerned about play-off pressure with this team.

We're elite. You don't get to 24-5 not being elite. We have a great team.

I don't think any regular season game is anything like a playoff game no matter what happens. Again you don't play a team 4-7 times in a row in the regular season. No matter how intense a regular season game can get there's always another day, You can't say that in the playoffs. I would bet that an intense regular season game is more intense to the fans then it is to the players. With that said it might be playoff style basketball to the fans but to the players, It's just another game.

I have more confidence that our team will do better in a playoff game because Stott's really is effective with mid game adjustments. He's also a great motivator and implements a "never give up" attitude.

Also, dame is born for these moments. He usually uses the first two quarters to see what the defense does. I can't imagine how much better he will be when he can play the same few players for a 7 game series.

The regular season "clutch games" aren't used to emulate the playoffs. It's there to emulate what needs to be done in clutch time situations. Those situations are what is needed in the playoffs, especially in the wcf and finals.
