...he insists that Kluber should be extended a.s.a.p.

...Kluber had a great year in 2014 but it was only one year...furthermore, he'll be 29 when the season starts and the Indians already have Kluber under team control till he's 33 ...so there's no advantage for them to change things now.
...sorry, I just don't agree with Bowden's logic.

Bowden's making a host of false assumptions and/or guesses. That's not journalism.

...I honestly believe Bowden simply made a statement without doing any research at all. I mean Kluber is under team control until 2019...why in the world would Cleveland do what he's suggesting?
...kinda sheds light as to why he's no longer a GM.

Exactly.....its like he looks at Cy Young award, and nothing else and then makes a determination without considering any other facts. A lot can happen between now and 2019. Why tie up resources when you don't need to? Oh Cleveland can say to themselves a series of 'what ifs', but by all means that doesn't equate to doing deals they don't need to do yet.

Personally you want to see the guy be hungry.... Make him earn a big pay day. If he was the everyday CF and named Trout, then this type of logic can be utilized. But even that is risky...look at Bryce Harper and to some extent Tulo.
