Anyone going to the national championship game?

I think I'm going, barring some sort of work issues. A buddy of mine has 4 upper deck tickets and lives in Gilbert, which is about 30 miles from Glendale. I was actually in Glendale yesterday for the Rams/Cardinals trainwreck sporting a bright yellow Ducks' shirt. I was hoping the cameras would catch it, but I got a lot of "good lucks" and such from the fans at the game, and this was before the BCS standings came out.

wondering how hard to crash parties. that'd be fun.

anyone planning? just wondering hotel prices, game tickets (might just watch in a bar)....would be one giant ass party all weekend.

How do you get into events and shit like that? I'm thinking of getting a room in scottsdale, tons of bars and hot women there.

I stayed at the Hampton Inn right by U of Phoenix Stadium last night, and we're staying there again the night of the BCS title game. There are about 8 bars right there at Westgate, and it will be going off. Hell, last night we were out until 1am at Westgate, and the bars were mostly full. The 6am flight to PDX wasn't fun, though, nor was trying to work today. There is also a large Renaissance Inn by the stadium as well.

Even if you can't get a ticket, it might be worth it just to go to Glendale and partake in the experience... especially if we win.

do you think I need a car there? Debating just flying and cabbing vs. driving up from LA vs. flying and renting a car.

If you stay in Scottsdale you'll want a car. Glendale is in the middle of nowhere.

so not much to do in Glendale? I just want to go where the party's at. I always hear Scottsdale has all the wimmens.

How much is a cab from Airport to Glendale? Once there, can I keep myself busy for 3 days?

No. You'll be bored after a day, but all of the "game" action will be at Westgate. It's basically just the stadium, a few hotels, and the bars and shops at Westgate. Scottdale is much more fun.

might go still. not sure...pricing flights and hotels....scottsdale would prob be more fun. depends on weather.

If you're going, pre-purchase tickets to the "Big Party". This looks like a good time. Pricing tickets yesterday, the cheapest are running around $1500 EACH - and that's nose bleed.

Two weeks ago, front row were $1400 a piece.

Buy early!

I'm going with my Son. We have Ducks season tickets but couldn't get tickets from UO. We bought off Ebay for $800 each. We also have tickets to a couple parties not sure which ones because my Son got them.

$800 is a screaming deal. This must have been a few weeks ago? I've been pricing them and they are nearing $2000 a piece now.

Take pictures at the game.

Yeah, we bought them once we knew for sure we were not getting tickets from the Ducks. At the time they had just gone up and we thought we might be paying to much. Just a couple days before they were going for $550-$600 each. We wanted them to be in the Oregon section and have been to bowl games before and sat in the other teams sections and it just wasn't as fun. We sat in the Col section for the Feista bowl when we beat them.
