In September, I plan on starting a daily Monday through Friday live podcast on BlazersUprise in a newly built studio.

For those podcasts, I'm looking for local businesses who would want to place advertisements within the podcast. I have a few different advertisements plans that I'm willing to offer.

So if you or anyone you know has a business that you think would be a good fit for this, please reply below or let me know with a private message!

Thanks,
Torey

EDIT - For those thinking I'm starting from scratch, I'm not. I have a YouTube channel with 2K subs already and posted on a channel with almost 6K subs for a year. My channel has been gaining apx. 47 subscribers a day over the past 30 days. It averages over 3.7K views a day has over 112K views in the past 30 days.

First, way to go. It's not easy launching a podcast.

I've podcasted for many years and have had some big name sponsors (Microsoft, etc.) My experience is that you need to get the show up and running and get some stats and listeners first, before you will be able to attract sponsors and advertisers.

I would add that a daily show is a lot of work; that is a ton of content. Not easy. Mine is weekly and it's a lot to fill.

I have a pal who has been really successful monetizing his podcast. He did a webinar on how he did it. If you want, PM me and I can send you the link.

pretty hard to launch with sponsors from the get-go unless you have some kind of official endorsement to play off with some marketing $ pushing the reach. after all, that's what the advertisers are wanting.

either that or you could aim for a sponsor you want, offer them a 'primary' sponsor name on it including mentions etc for free as you get established - no strings attached.

it may not get you cash but the play is to leverage that association into a paid one, either with them or with someone you can trade the previous naming rights with as a positive.

in saying all that, its really about reach - audience - demographics - numbers - downloads - streams etc and you're starting from zero so there isn't much to trade off re value in return.

what do you guys do for marketing? just organic seo? or anyhting paid above the line?

Thanks for you help, but have you never checked out my channel before? I already have a platform up and running where I've gotten almost 4K views per day on videos posted every 2 to 4 days. I already have stats, a following, a platform and all of that. It's not starting from scratch at all. It's pivoting into more content. I've done livestreams before too.

The hope is with a daily show that I'll have a couple different people fill-in here or there. I have confidence in @hoopsjock already and I'm looking to host a couple weekly pre-recorded podcasts from other people who could possibly fill-in when I needed a break. Daily one-hour livestreams would be much easier than the 7.5 hour livestream I pulled off a couple weeks ago.

I'm not starting from zero at all! Haha.. I've done my research in regards to podcast advertising, rates, and all of that. Just looking for some connections!

You are going to have get out and hoof it and go to business's and try and sell your idea. Expect a lot of rejection no matter how good you think your idea is as that's the life of selling (was a chemical sales rep for over 23 years with the same company.) Sometimes you only have one shot, but don't expect a sale on the first time, but instead try and build relationships and make sure you follow up in a timely manner. Also take good notes and categorize the prospects in level of interest and target those that are expressing the most interest. Selling, especially advertising is not an easy sell and will take time. If you plan on starting up in September then you are already behind so you need to formulate a game plan right now and get out and sell your idea.

I agree with everything other than being behind. Im fine starting off in September with no sponsors or advertisements. I'm applying to a few affiliate and ambassador programs that can fill the ad void until I get more traction. But I agree with the feedback as I already plan on going door to door and trying to make in-person connections. Id be happy with a 5-10% conversion rate to be honest! I was just hoping that someone in here would have a recommendation or connection, as Im going to exercise all my options!

Let me know what you guys think of this base-plan:

Consider that the average advertiseing rate of a podcast is $18 per 1K impressions for a 30-second pre-roll $25 per 1K impressions for a 60-second mid-roll. I'm offering:

20-second pre-or-post-roll: $6.99 per 1K views
40-second mid-roll: $9.99 per 1K views
Presenting Sponsor & 60-second mid-roll: $12.99 per 1K views
*Catologging cap at 5K views and 30 days*

Pre-Rolls (1 or 2) - First 5 minutes
Mid-Rolls (1 or 2) - apx. 22min
Presenting Mid-Roll or normal mid-rolls: apx. 37min.
Post-Rolls (1 or 2) - Last 5 minutes

No I didn't realise that. Way to go. That is what I'm talking about! You don't need my help. :smiley-chainsaw:

I dont follow the minutes and views breakdown?

How much for swil to put a 30sec ad on?

Rate would be per 1K YT views.

The minute breakdown is simply what minute in the hour long livestream the ads would be.

Willing to make special arrangements for people I know.

Since podcasting is relatively new in the media world established business's might be a little hesitant. Start with up and coming business's with younger owners. One avenue you might want to look at if you have not thought of this already is Vulcan. Since your Podcast is about the Blazers they might be willing to help or at least provide you with a list you could ask. I know they helped a friend of mine get started in the Brewery business. Best of Luck

listen to some local sports radio or portland radio/tv etc as they'll have the assets to quickly supply.

getting new advertisers with no creative can just incur costs their side to even get involved. in saying that even the larger podcasts tend to do host read ads.

Thanks for the advice but I know what Im doing. Was looking for connections through the forum, thats all.

You bring me on as a co-host, I’ve got at least 5 or 6 people/ businesses that have asked me to do a podcast that they’d sponsor. But I would have total content control and I would name it. I’d let you run the sound board and get me coffee.
If you don’t like these conditions, oh well, good luck to you.

Hahaha.

How would I get you coffee from a different locations? By pigeon?

Also, this would be like letting Aminu play PG and asking him to shoot pull-up 3s and get 7 assists a game while Dame sits in the corner.

If you ever did host a podcast, I'd host it on the channel and help you get some clout though. I'm generous like that.

BlackRock Coffee is the first one I'm working on, since I go here every single day.
