Anyone into music production?

Ive asked this question on two different ign music boards with no help (meaning no one even replied to the threads), so I figure the sportstwo family might be able to help.

So i recently bought a Mac to use for my music production, but the program I use (FL Studio) is PC only. I had a lil trouble running it through VirtualBox, so I wanted to know if anyone knew of any programs similar to FL that were Mac compatible. I've tried Ableton Live but its really confusing to me (to the point where i dont even want to actually sit down and learn it) and i've been really itching to get back and re-do some more of my old beats. Any help is greatly appreciated and i figure you guys would actually be nicer and respond.

This all depends on what you're using it for. For beats, I've used VirtualDj before. They have free software downloads or you can buy the professional edition.

If not here's some other choices

Or here's something for a more broader range. It's a shame you can't get into Ableton. I've heard nothing but good things about them.

I know you've already tried it, but Ableton Live is actually a very good piece of software for music. If you know anyone else who uses it, ask them to run you though the motions real quick. Once you get the hang of it you won't want to use anything else.

I believe it, and Ive even looked up tutorial vids on youtube, but i couldnt follow the person in the video.

With fl studio, im so used to having everything right there for me to use. I have several drum kits that i put in the kit directory and i shuffle thru sounds looking to mix and match (i layer my drums). Im also use to being able to load a sample up, whether it be in the normal channel or fl's fruity slicer. One thing Im also used to is the sequencer. After I was done laying everything down, i would form the actual track. I hear Ableton can do the same thing, its just that I dont know how lol. I hear it makes workflow much better but with FL i was able to work so quickly, the only thing that took time was figuring out what i was gonna do wit a sample or sound

thanks man, i use live drums and drum machines, a casio keyboard for squeeks and beeps and midi stuff, guitars and bass and an sm58 for vocals, then i sequence everything in acid pro 7.

actually back then it was like acid pro 3 haha
